Well which was it, his own skill (combined with good solid engineering*) or Magic Beard Man?

*Boeing could fly upside down if their wings wouldn't shear off during the roll. Airbus can fly upsidedown.

[Edit]
Seriously, why do Americans seem to have have such difficulty with concepts such as luck and skill? Why do they find it so hard to attribute their success to their own abilities? Is it perhaps so that if they fail... I might open a new thread for this.

Or we could just tell the Germans that ther are empty sunbeds in Poland.

Sorry about that being my only contribution, but my current abode uses storage heaters and electric cookers (to be honest I'm not sure we even have a gasline to the house) is this is not my problem.

Aaaand back to the original topic. Kind of.

So Obama is now officially the President of the United States (unless I misheard the news), and everyone still feels the need to rape my ears with the words "First Black President" and "It's a sign of the times", but the phrase that has inspired me to write this post is this: "Well, we can't call Americans racist anymore".
Oh really? You want to bet your kidneys on that?

"Look, look, look! Our President is black! It's change!"
No, it's racism. What? Racism does work both ways you know, just like with Discrimination. Remember "Positive Discimination"? If that wasn't a shit-stirring stick I don't know what was.

So anyway; Until the day comes when a black man can be the first to do something and just be "The first man to..." you're still racist.
The Obama's are still slaves, and in the worst possible way:

They are slaves to their skin.

Am I right in my impression that you live in the north of GB?
If so you might want to check out what is happening to the Gulf Stream, and what the end result will be for our corner of Europe.

It's kind of funny actually; we British live on the same latitude as Moscow, yet we complain that we don't get weather like Madrid.

In the years running up to WW2 London had quite a problem with Brownshirts, men with Nazi views who were easily identified by their cut insistence on wearing brown shirts.
Their movement did not last long, as you can imagine.

"Fokker try to break a hole in this one, please."

I would, but given that EVERY time anyone has done so in the past you have either dissapeared from the forum, had a nervous breakdown, started a new job that takes up all of your time, been fired and therefore can't affort to access the internet, or simply spat out your dummy and had a tantrum, I think that such an attempt would ultimately be a waste of my time.
We are all well used to your games, Michael, which is why only the n00bs are trying.
We are all used to your mind, Michael, which is why I expect you to spin the above line in your favour.

If food trading were to stop I have nothing to worry about:
Currently the UK is capable of meeting ~70% of its own food needs. In a crisis situation I have no doubt that we could pull together and make it ~100%.

Damn it, I can't find that link... who posted the link to the list of countries and how much of their own food needs they can meet?

E.M.P.? Puh-leeze. Hardened electronics have been standard issue British Military tech for at least 10 years. I think that the E.M.P. is something for our enemies to worry about.

Indeed; I wrote an entire life-story for Zero, Commander Krg, and Subcommander Erf before joining Space.
This also prevented me from doing something silly like suddenly deciding that Krg has enough telekinetic power to split a world just because he got captured and imprisoned.

The first thing that needs to be pointed out is that RP'ing here is different to standard RP'ing because none of the RP's here have a GM, which can cause problems, and lead to ridiculous situations (scinfari sea).

How many of these threads has Flint abandoned the instant someone started working on it and pointed out that the entire essay is based on sources that are either years out of date or little more than internet quotes with no sources or backing?

Had to happen sometime. I'm honestly surprised that noone made a big deal out of the UK doing the same (In theory, I personally think that switching to the Trident system was a mistake).

I have a theory:
Space has more reads than any other thread on the board because the active players within the RP constantly check an re-check for new posts, thus artificially inflating the numbers.

And as for "Do we even have any n00bs?":
To my knowledge we do not, which kind of proves my point.

Deci, I know their "community" post is a little silly considering that their community seems to consist of just them and their bestest buddy, but that doesn't mean you can "rip him a new one", so to speak.

Jesnt, ignore him. Simple.

Trust me, Space is very off-putting for n00bs.
