missiles are hard to hit. but ever wonder why there are new versions of patriot missles? they're getting higher and higher hit rates. the technology is becoming available to make higher and higher rates of success. while hitting old missles is hard, hitting brand spanking new high speed missles is alot harder. if Russia is going to secure their MAD by making new ICBM's i rather have that then have them try to keep the US from progressing in missles defense technology.

We agree on something, but you're missing the POINT:

Better defence is negated by better offence.
It doesn't matter what kind of missiles the Russians MIGHT have, we are in no more danger than we were ten years ago. The only thing that has changed is an increased efficiently in detonation and explosion.

No, better question:
Which matters to you why?

Russia has over 1000 Nuclear missiles at its command, a possible 9000 warheads (with an average megatonnage of 10) to play with, add to that the 70 new ICBM's they MIGHT have, and you are worried about Iran possibly having A (singular) atomic bomb withing the next decade, worried about the PRK having a 0.5 (at best) megaton warhead they can't get off of the ground?

I get the feeling you are  searching  for a point of contention.

I would be far more concerned if they decided to increase the funding for the FSB, that's the real chess-piece of all superpowers. 70 nukes added to 10,000 is a drop in the ocean.

No, its 70 added to ~1,000-2,000 Cowmasta. And they will have better tech too.

The problem here is:
A) More.
B) Better.

(B) is frustrating, because this could just be a stepping stone to upgrading their entire nuclear arsenal.
