Changing to EvilRunt!

Why is Freezy dying? ![]()
Changing to TBO aka TBob aka TMob
Scratch that!
Changing to mobPoley!
Voting to lynch a mobbie.
Let the shenanigans commence!
Voting arby!
Nvm, just re-read his first post! He was asking why the first one was Crap ![]()
lol no one used it for looking for allies or anything game related. It was full of non game related stuff and insults every round.
Truth hurts!
Also, all I remember it was used for, was an ego contest to see which drafted fam had 3 players in, to change leader and post in it first.
It's a nice idea though - can anyone see a need/purpose for this or something related? I think that was Pie's intention.
And people say noone listens!
Need more votes!
Everyone who's come here via the GE - You must vote "Top Right!"

Indeedy, but just as a thought, maybe make an announcement this poll is up or/& post it on Galaxy HQ's so that more people can vote. If they don't read forums much they will at least know it's here & have the choice!
Nice idea.
It's a bit trivial for something so small, but it might bring people to this section of the forums, lets see if we can combine the two!
Thx ![]()
...to SSL and I
just look at those pro writing skillz
Umm, can I just remind you of the time, earlier in the round, when you took a planet off me?
I msged you and DDK that all I'll do is take that planet back, and I left you guys alone.
Hell, I had shares with DDK and beware at the time. And everyone was untouched. I came out worse in the exchange since I lost a portalling planet with infra. Still didn't do anything against you guys though.
Arby defending Poley - cos he knows I have the power to sway votes onto him!
Arby was voting Poley first ......
ohhhh, think I'm onto something!
Voting Poley - lets lynch a mobbie today!
Voting Ramza
Voting Ramza
Trivial! But I am testing out Pie's new poll feature ![]()
Let's 'close' this poll, 1 week from now!
Need a 'message to all' function for all members in family.
the actual problem is elsewhere
Spot on!
We all know the problem is with Lee.
Really, this rule shouldn't be in place for explorations. When exploring for people, it should be okay to specify where the comp planets are.
I believe this rule came in about (i think anyway, i wasn't here at the time), was to stop this kind of thing:
"I'll give you a NAP, but you pay me 5 planets. These 5 planets are to be x, y, z, a and b, because they give me shares with Fam XXXX."
^ That kinda thing used to happen yearssssss ago in Milky Way - and imo, at the time everyone agreed it was bad practice/form. Yet people would still do it, without it being an official rule.
I was only able to arrange the Torq save because, like you, Nolio realized I was town because I was blithering like an idiot in the forums and in #mafia. Too bad the Torq saved failed because both mobs went after him
It didn't really fail. I saw it as a good thing that I got targetted by both. Saved a kill elsewhere.
Whent he same thign happened to Nolio and Gwynedd after me, then we were in a much better position. We needed the 'no kills' to get us home. Which we ended up doing by 1 player ![]()
So yea, better they both hit me and me die, rather than they split and killed someone else off.
This is what I mean when I say we are rewarding activity for activity's sake rather than rewarding skill.
This is exactly what I'm saying too. Except my view is to address the root of the problem. Not just necessarily make things easier for the sake of it.
e.g., This idea in this thread (lets be focused
) ...would help someone aid in more on a regular basis, based on their availability. This equalises activity to an extent. [Do I fully agree with this? No, cos i think those willing to be active to do so, should be rewarded for it].
However, what we need, is not to standardise that activity, but rather make that activity more relevant. The mentality needs to change that instead of implementing a better system for just people to mindlessy aid in ...we make it so that they actualyl need to do stuff.
Activity at that level needs to be increased and the efforts you put in, should be reflected into your own empire.
Take for example WoW (yea, i know comparing IC to 7million players in WoW
- but a lot of people can relate, im sure!):
The game is set up so that the casual player can still do what they want. Yet those willing to actively do things like farming materials, reputation rewards, dailies (which take time and dedication) will be able to reap higher rewards.
I definitely think we need to head in that direction.
Previously, we used to have this kinda polling done through the ingame voting system (some people may remember). Helped us decide what was a desired #of players, drafts (if relevant) etc.
Not sure why it's not done anymore.
But it's definitely a good idea to bring it back.
Closing this thread now.
The tale, has yet to conclude!
Back to the "tedious" thing, my point is that the act of logging in to send aid isn't indicative of meaningful activity.
Again, this is kinda my point. Alot of people perform this, because of the nature of what IC has become. All they need to do is login and aid, because 1-2 guys are controlling everything.
If they became more responsible for their own empires, then they would log in to do more. Who says that their actions are derived from activity? It could entirely be possible that their activity is driven from their required actions.
