"They changed the term from Global Warming to CLIMATE CHANGE for a reason.
The evidence of this occurring is indesputable.
Deal with it."

in the 1990s Al Gore led the charge that human pollution was altering the content of the atmosphere to a condition that prevented full dissipation of solar heat

this "greenhouse effect" was going to send global temperatures up up up and melt the ice caps and flood the earth

after a decade it is clear: there is no region on the earth that has endured straight warming.  The global average temperature has hit new highs 3 years over the past 20 but they have not been consecutive years.

the "greenhouse gas"  paradigm  has failed.  No one can explain why increased amounts of manmade greenhouse gases allow the earth to cool off  from year to year.

And instead of accepting that real data disproves the greenhouse gas paradigm - pollution is NOT trapping heat from year to year -- the ecofreaks insist on circular logic.  the collapse of the greenhouse gas paradigm must be interpreted based on the conclusion that pollution drives climate.  if it gets cooler each year that is due to pollution.  How that can possibly happen if higher greenhouse gas content traps heat, is "not yet" clear.   But we'll solve it!  Clap if you believe in fairies!

In another case, in February 2007, an Apache helicopter shot and killed two Iraqi men believed to have been firing mortars, even though they made surrendering motions, because, according to a military lawyer cited in the report,

I proclaim a fatwa on Assange! He shall never know peace!

" But the military that withdrew after seven years of war was a demoralized force that had long since ceased to believe in the noble goals of the campaign.

The documents faithfully reflect this change. In the roughly 400,000 documents, the word "democracy" appears only eight times. The "improvised explosive devices" which instilled fear in the hearts of American soldiers, however, are mentioned 146,895 times."

LOL you'd think we lost or something

"But there is one key difference between the Afghanistan war logs and these: The Iraq reports are all from a war that had already been officially declared as having been won. George W. Bush, the US president and commander in chief at the time, declared on May 1, 2003 on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln that "major combat operations in Iraq have ended." The field reports show that his statement proved to be untrue for years to come."

There was no major combat in Iraq between 2003 and 2010.  Guess the Germans forgot their own history.

the Internet, eh?

since the Democrats insist that "Citizens United" made corporations into persons
and they think marriage is a right for all persons
I guess Texaco should marry Pennzoil to get around antitrust laws

Of course it was not a defensive war, and since he got a peace treaty in 1805 it was not just one war but several.  He declared war, invaded, deposed monarchs, put up his own kinfolk as King, and then looted the place for more wars.  Spain wasn't trying to invade France in 1810.  Russia wanted to be left alone.

and I guess you'd argue coming back from Elba and setting up the Empire again was a defensive move?

My point about Napoleon was that he was faced with the difficulty of the ruling elite of Europe wanting nothing less than him to be removed from power, and he was not the aggressive imperialist that he is portrayed as. "

He did not conquer, depose and loot all Europe from Portugal to Poland as part of a defensive war.  If he is NOT an aggressive imperialist then nobody was

Guess I'm showing my age but its current spate of development dates back to about when it stopped monitoring, regulating and punishing ALL private intersts who threaten the state.

its general public does not enjoy real prosperity and as for stability, there's plenty of warnings.

its alluded to in LOTR, Gollum lost the ring in the Riddle Game and then showed Bilbo the way out of the mountains.  Tolkien changed it to show the Ring was really uniquely powerful and then did the best "retcon" of all time: There were two different versions because the Ring perverted Bilbo into lying about how he got it; in the "false" version he owned it fair and square
