"

Just saying that is a rather immature thing to say tongue

it was a serious question, wasnt meant as an insult.  i know toddlers that can make funnier jokes.

i am, but theres no substance to these jokes, i will appreciate good jokes even if they are directed at me, these are pretty pitiful jokes though. if a stand up comedian used these types of jokes, people would feel ripped off. these are not good jokes.

i think its funny how people's view of maturity can be so different.

so you think everything democracy is based on is wrong?  It's wrong for people to have their own opinions?  That's what you said... right there... you aren't following a candidate - you're following a rockstar like a teenage girl.

My sweet lord, obama might be intelligent, so might his supporters, but you certainly, *most* certainly, in fact - are not.

my God, how long did it take for you to figure that out, genius?

We would have it all polished off by 2300 Saturday night. Lucky for me, my Irish and German ancestry keeps me from having hangovers. My whole family is like that. We just be lucky wink

Now a days, I wouldn't be half stupid to drink that much in two days.

does bud even have alcohol in it?

thats weird, i have Irish and German ancestry and i've never had a hangover in my life despite once drinking so much that i dont remember most of the night.

it was johnnie walker black label scotch and then it was effen vodka.

i bought the Heineken, i dont know why they spent so much on the liquor.

last time i partied with 2 good friends we split a 1.75 L bottle of vodka, a 1 L bottle of scotch, and a 5L mini keg of Heineken, i had a larger share then the others and i was barely buzzed; while finishing off the beer, we played mariokart online and i won several races. i guess all the people we played against could of been drunk, but i doubt it.

thats not that much booze for that long a time. for 55 hours, thats actually pretty pathetic.

if McCain wins and [fornicates on our dreams like a drunken sailor] it up, that means instead of the devs [acting like a rutting bull] up when they have full control in 2009, they will [have done us dry] up when they have control 4 years afterwards. but these next 4 years, there can easily be 2 supreme court justices to be appointed, so i think its best we win this next term

then the rich individual is saying he knows how his neighbors should spend their money better then they do, and he's trying to gain control over their money by raising taxes.

if the rich want to spend their money to help certain programs, they need only to donate; the only reason to raise taxes is to force other people to pay taxes for what you support.

"I'm not sure what you mean. Both paying higher taxes and the choice to sacrifice your life are voluntary decisions  of the citizens and of the soldier, respectively."

paying higher taxes is a decision by the many to oppress the few, it is a selfish decision. the individual that pays taxes doesnt have a choice, he is being robbed.

"It depends on what those taxes are spent on. If the rich are heavily taxed and help support the poor, it's not selfish - how could giving your money away be selfish? Of course, if taxes are wasted on corruption or wars, then you are right."

nope, if the rich are taxed to support the poor, the poor are being selfish; if the rich donate to the poor then it would not be selfish.

my opinion is exactly the opposite tongue not wanting to pay taxes its a selfish act, not wanting to help a country men get education/healthcare is a selfish act. and in the end you finish no spend more money than saving it. Paying taxes makes things cheaper with almost the some quality or even better.

you can help the country man get education/healthcare without paying taxes for it.

i just wanted to compare sex to Christianity for kicks

"I think of love as a chemical reaction that occurs when the favorable circumstances are present. Meaning, that when you are able to enjoy a pleasant conversation, are attracted to the person, and have consistent positive experiences with them etc (among other essential circumstances), then the formula for the love chemical reaction is present and there is love as an outcome. This reaction can also be reproduced with other people when the right circumstances for are present.

Christians on the other hand, I have observed, view love very differently. Keep in mind that I am referring to romantic love. I still don't quite understand it, but they seem to subscribe to "The One" theory. "The One" theory seems to assert that God designates your match sometime before you meet as part of his master plan for you, sets up the circumstances under which you will meet, and love will be present when your time comes to bond with that person. Of course, I find this theory ludicrous for various reasons. But some of them are:"

i was raised catholic and went to a catholic school, and in that catholic school, through highschool, and in that catholic school, they taught your description of love, and not your description of christian love. you're like some kid in elementary school who knows very little about sex, but that doesnt keep him from talking about sex with his friends and making jokes about sex, but the things you say about sex are childish and show a lack of understanding of the basic principles of sex. except instead of sex, you're imature about religion and lack a basic understanding of the principles.

"My question: is it not inconsistent to advocate selfishness on the one hand and praise selflessness on the other?"

it is not inconsistent because lowering taxes is not selfish, its the opposite of selfish, wanting taxes is selfish. Taxes are armed robbery supported by those who think they know how people should spend their money better then the people do.

also isnt inconsistent because risking your life as a solider is voluntary while paying taxes isnt.

i love when Justinian mentions Sun Tzu, it just reinforces my image of him as some kid who's read the art of war one too many times.
