Let's be honest this game is stuck in the 90s /00s.

There is just way too much clicking involved for most people to get interested.

I posted this thread a while back:

http://imperialconflict.com/forum/viewt … ?id=148236

I see that nothing has really moved on from there sad

Can you elaborate?  All I see from that is 2 main points
1) Advertise
2) Get a smartphone app

1 is definitely needed
2 seems to be an issue just atm

I think it would be nice to be able to put planets into groups so that they could all be built on easily.  Maybe make the planet coordinates for the group a different color.  One could have maybe five or seven different colors.  Maybe orange would be planets for mines, and they would all be over-built to the same percentage.  And red would be a second group, etc.  This would make it easier to handle more planets.

We can already sort by planet bonuses, or coords, portals, etc.  Is this not sufficient?

If I want 'groups' of building, e.g. I just click Iron, then click the checkbox for the first planet ....scroll down the page, find my last iron bonus planet - shift-click the checkbox for that one (that selects all iron bonus planets) and then OB to percent on those.

So yea, grouping could probably be better, but at this stage, I think its still pretty good!

Yep, and shown only when a Galaxy is about to end.

Or somewhere in HQ, with a timer or something.  Could be useful!

Yep!

as i see bids that are in decimal bids :s

And maybe, if there are below 10 teams, disable drafting.
Else the random joiners will be without a chance.

That's probably a good idea.

Pity, I have no idea how many people will want to play.  We currently have about 85 players in Supernova.  I assume not all want to play HC.

Perhaps 20 Families of 3 each?
No Drafting (if we get less than, say 5 teams wanting to draft?)
Attack delay of 2 days (allows some unorganised families time for preparation)
Market, no delay
Small map
Small planetcounts

Tbh, given the above, I don't picture this round to last very long, lol.

Now ...if it was non-hc ...that's a different story altogether.  Cos one super jumped attacker, cannot win it for you.  Different strategies will have to come into play!

You missed the point of my post tongue

There are no strats.  As soon as attacking is allowed, one person gets the upperhand, and he just kills the entire opposition.  That's what happened last time and it was very much overrated.  Didn't last long at all, was over in like a few ticks.

We've done this before, in Draco.

2 Families, lots of players in each.

As soon as attacks started, 1 fam jumped an attacker huge and he managed to overcome everyone.  In HC, there's no limitation after that, and the round was over before it even started.

You could also try Render's idea:
* Far too many planets

Honestly ...we give you guys a Finger tongue

Again, this all requires coding changes, which we can't do in such a short time or without further thought, etc.

Right now, just want feedback on the stats/parameters of the galaxy.

Seems like all the feedback is geared towards a small map, (fam numbers we have no idea, since i think no teams have signed up yet, so it'll be purely random, most likely - maybe 1-2 will come in still).

What about attack delay? Market?  Any input?

Small map with strategikally distributed areas of klusters is the way to do it, but it always depends on how family HSs are plazed, so I think they should be plazed manually, not random

Sadly, we can't do that easily, atm.  Right now,t he maps are generated randomly based on a few criteria that we have.  Maybe down the road we can have manually designed maps.

Who is Fam 89? Starting to pick up a lead, it seems.  Else all else looks pretty close-ish

Also, for existing bids lodged at decimals, these will remain.

For example if you have a Sell bid of Iron at 14.5, then for a person to buy it, will have to bid at 15 to pick it up!

Implemented! Cap is now raised to 100!

Implemented! Decimals are gone for Iron/End/Oct!

Right, we've brought in a couple of Market Changes smile  These are effective immediately!

  • The Market Cap is now raised to 100 (previously 50).

  • Bids (both Buy and Sell) are no longer accepted with decimal places for Iron, Endurium and Octarine.  You can now only place bids at whole integer values.

Hopefully this will bring about some new strategies around market and at least provides for a bit of change!

This change was largely brought about due to player Ideas and Feedback.  So if there is something you feel that needs to be changed or tweaked about IC, head over to Ideas and let us know smile

Enjoy smile

That's the point, its our decision but everyone always whines that we get it wrong.  We try to guage it as best we can, its not an exact science.  We have no more information than you do.  I mean, why would we "know the numbers" ?

So yea, we're getting feedback for this, and letting the players decide on these parameters.

I do enjoy the 1 player familie idea of SuperNova.
Just to make sure I don't let people down if I don't feel like logging in.

I would like to know why that changed.

That was the philosophy behind 1 man fams.  To reduce the dependence on others.  But for variety's sake, we throw in a different type of round.  Also based on feedback of people wanting a team HC round again.

So yea, Supernova will take a break this round, and will be brought back at the conclusion of Orion smile - That's the plan atm.

Tbh, I see no problem with pop banking atm.  It's super strong.

Last round (yes I did have a good attacker team to back me up), but we had 2 bankers for 70% of the round.  Me pop, and one cf.  And I was making most gc in the galaxy by far (no Top lists at the time though, but we had visions!).

Yes, I did get opped to barely any pop like 3 times, but overall it still gave us a huge lead on #2 fam.

And yep, I was CF start, so as not to slow our growth and then progressively did a switch.

Right now I see pop as high risk, high reward.  Doesn't need to be made stronger, imo.

Yea, but wouldn't that be additional clicks?

I mean, if you were on your fleet build screen, and wanted to check your planets page it'd be like -> Empire -> Planets.

You know, we still read all your ideas (most of them are good too), without the unnecessary flaming.  Makes it easier!

Also yea, this can be brought back.  It was also done by Elro, not me smile

There's still a few things that need to be brought back, like this, planet/system bookmarking, etc.  But we're getting there!

Our Planet Format Tool (also linked at the bottom of Overview page) now sorts planets based on travel time!

In memory of Elrohir, our long lost Developer, who brought us this tool!
And also Tortoise and Vegnarok for the idea smile

For those players not using this tool, perhaps you will now.  It's a quick way to:
1) Format a messy list of planets!
2) Easily find the closest planets to you to attack for a certain target!

Enjoy! smile

Yep, noted.  Same thing happens with attack.  You have to 'tab' to the send button to actually allow it to hit enter.  Hopefully we can get these sorted out at some point.  Thanks
