I think for better look on side bar, some button or shortcut can be in group.
1. Empire overview + council + fleet + planet ---> Empire [HQ] [Council] [Fleet] [planets]
2. Galaxy map + quick view ---> Galaxy Map [xx],[yy]:[pp] (go)
3. Family +++ ---> [News] [Aid] [Forum]
4. Covert operations + Magic --> Covert Ops | Magic
5. Message + Personal Log --> Message | Logs
Just a litle idea, or may be we can have option or theme like old side bar.
Some sort of grouping by category would be nice, especially for new players.
Most vets are used to the marble layout but shouldnt be a problem to get used to a new sidebar setup

It needs a bit of Organization. Didn't htink about it fully, but we could have some sort of stuff like
Empire
- HQ
- Council
- Planets
- Research
Social
- Messages
- Family
- Forum
- Diplomacy
Attacking/Offensive
- Fleets
- Build Units
- Map
- Quick View
- Magic/Ops
That's kinda what I had in mind - but yea, could be a better way to organise - and a better design too.
whatever the grouping is, kould you do the bar move with the mousewheel? it is very annoying to be rolling up everytime you go to kounzil, planets, HQ, fleet, family, messages, ... all
That is a good idea you had before, yea. Not sure how possible with this setup and design - would need a bit looking into.
What if rather than a sidebar that has everything in one place, we had 4 links that sent you to pages designated for attacking, empire, social, and map.
Would do away with Render's idea, but I'm not sure if it would be more or less functional for phones.
Yea, but wouldn't that be additional clicks?
I mean, if you were on your fleet build screen, and wanted to check your planets page it'd be like -> Empire -> Planets.
there should be more options for different side bars, i think this 1 is way to big its almost 1/4th of your screen i would love a smaller bar 
if you go to fam forum you almost lose half of your screen because of the sidebar.
ic looks good but it should be a bit smaller it overrulez to much for players that don't want a sidebar, make a option to hide it ?
