@wfs,
Its one of the main problems with the EU in general. They don't communicate enough. We know every minor national law that gets passed even if it doesn't change a thing but we never heared of what the EU decided (wich even might be the reason that national law got passed)
thx theo for the edit
and sorry mods for the practical joke but I couldn't resist.
@WFS:
"Indeed, the treaty of lisbon doesn't actually change a lot for the people, only it only changes the organisation of EU."
The EU decides the biggest part of the laws for those people. So in that light alone I think its very important.
"It was a silly thing to let the people decide about it when 99% doesn't even know what it's about. They're right to pass it anyway though (if they're really doing that, as you say).."
I don't know,but Barosso said so, France, Germany so I presume and hope it will get trough.
The treaty is rather important in that way it makes the EU more democratic and more easy to understand. It gives more power to the parliament, the most democratic organ of the EU.
@east
"I'm not saying the general population shouldn't have a vote of course, but voting through democratically elected representatives are much more sensible"
unfortunately yes. Unfortunately because its also more corrupt but we have no alternative.
Sorry I all got you there, I will post spam instead, i.o.w. a real political subject:
The real toppic:
~~Ireland to reject lisbon treaty. ~~
In a referenda the irish rejected the lisbon treaty. Manuel barroso already said they will go on with the treaty none the less.
linky: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Lisbon
any thoughts?
me to
That is something totally different as becoming an informant. There is a disctinct difference between the SECRET services and the official policeforce.
You can leave some clue if you do that (but to his defence, I thought the same as you there imediately).
But this forum shouldn't be personal. And its an intresting toppic. Castro is(let us say was
)head of a totalitarian regime. Nobody doubts the power lays in the hands of a few. Maybe I should start a toppic about this issue. Tomorow I got a day of so maybe I'll try to start a debate that leads us somewhere.
...and india, EU and US.
Thats only demand. Cause we buy the rubbish from china.
Guy, even if you would start threads like "lp is the smartest poster of IC politics forum" I wouldn't want you to post more of them. Have you looked up DOS-attack on wiki or what?
still you could have answere my post

@supall:
don't look at me, after the 5th I already started to ask mods to close further Obama or McCain threads. As you you can see that was a while back.
einstein...you're doing it again. Posting 15 toppics a day 7 days a week is equal to spamming. Especially if you coppy past.
yeah the link isn't very clear to me either.
Also I'm aware it all has nothing to do with obama or McCain. I posted it in politics anyhow.
it even has a name: politics.
"hooray, glad he was forced to withdraw it."
It is an important signal. And also a very important issue. Why the irony?
"People think we're crazy to embargo Cuba but that's what they do down there, you keep tabs on your neighbor's politics for Comrade Castro"
-Catholics on this forum forgive me the expression- but wasn't castro in pope-like state?
Einstein:
...So I can blame rain on sunday on your latest actions? ![]()
Chavez proposed a spy-resolution to the parliament wich practicly obliged people to be a secret service informant. He had to withdraw his proposal because of the huge pressure. They have a long tradition of democracy in that country.
Personally, I think its a good case this law will never get passed. We've seen enough totalitarianism.
I admit I know little of the issue so both sides can still convince me.
one argument I heard so far in this thread: how can we know its not purely natural? (ofcourse the question goes the other way around as well)
well indeed, my p*n*s warms up from all those happy thoughts ![]()
next year might be exceptionally cold...
the theory goes that global warming would increase cloudforming and rain, snow etc. What you say flint actually prooves their theory.
Its like all those people who complain about the heat because of GW. Global warming mesured local in one or 2 years is absolute nonsence. You have to measure 10-20 years GLOBAL and then -maybe- you can draw conclusions. Please
"everybody thinks they know what an assface neocon warmonger is"
but nobody is as great as you, oh holy master! ![]()
@noir
You have to replace one obama.
@toppic:
You need a second "republican" party if the other screws up. Same for the dems party. The competition will do much good I think.
