Are you trying to say some media are bias?
Gosh! Who knew!
Some more information can't hurt.
I'm not sure any of those sentences make any grammatical sense.
France is actually trying to make the euro drop even more, cause it's benefitial.
I seem to recall you predicting the EU would be gone within 2 months....like half a year ago.
I also seem to recall you predicting civil war was imminent in the USA...months ago.
etc. etc. etc.
either way, even if people wanted to drop the euro, i think the sheer cost of this operation is reason enough not to do it.
You have predicted many a thing in the history of the forum, and i don't think a single one ever came true.
The picture is not as black and white as painted here, but I kinda agree. Europe has been too socialist and has to man up now to get better. No big deal.
The Netherlands are moving in the right direction, the liberal conservatives are becoming the biggest party (according to polls) for the first time ever. Mind you, liberal conservatives in the Netherlands would still be shot for communism in the USA.
Neelie Kroes for Prime minister!
(alternatively me for prime minister!)
i have often had that idea.
a bit like gas stations.
that is the point, you can tax it the same, i'm not saying it is done.
Yea...no.
I studied this exact thing, flint, you can tell me it's not like this, but it is.
Wazoo, if a country like south africa can handle it, i'm pretty sure holland/belgium can handle it. I'm not gonna look up the actual statustics of people visiting World Championships, but i'm a 100% sure holland/belgium can handle it with ease. (mostly because the sheer lot of visitors come from western europe and would probably come by train)
As for english public transport...the trains are so rediculously overprized there. You need to take a loan to be able to afford going from London to Manchester.
And I can't beleive you dare to argue English supporters are more passionate than the Dutch... ![]()
Have you even bloody seen the movies? Those are not taped in Holland, that is actually at the spot, in Austria, in Germany, whereever they play. I'm not talking about club-fans, that's not relevant to this discssion, I'm talking fans of the national team.
And as stated before, the world cup has always been regarded as a way to develop stadiums in countries that are not at the top yet. As you said, England has the biggest leagues in the world, noone will argue with that. (It needs to be said it's mostly foreigners doing it though).
Environmentally unfriendly products are not only gasoline and energy. Sure, it will cost companies more to produce it, but the idea is that they charge it to the costumer that buys it (which is exactly how it works with all other costs for that matters).
And The Yell, products produced in Europe and exported to the USA are taxed in the USA. Products produced in the USA and exported to Europe
are taxed in Europe. So basically what I am saying is, it doesn't matter if a product is imported from elsewhere or produced in your own country, it'll have to pay the same taxes. That has nothing to do with free market.
So let's talk about this genius response
Or are you just going to act like this post never happened? I would bet $50 here.
I think nothing in this forum has ever been said that was more ironic than this. Flint, this is your signature move, and now you accuse others of doing it? Get a grip man, stop smoking weed.
Justi, if you are prepared to face the fact everything is (at least) twice as expensive in europe than it is in USA, then that sounds like a good plan ![]()
They have a better level of infrastructure (including public transportations), sure, stadiums are not as big as in england, but that's kinda the point of WC's, so stadiums are expanded.
If you mean international arrival:
Schiphol is an important European airport, ranking as Europe
Two nations produce a similar product. One has super stupid and insane tax and green initiative policies
The other acknowledges man cannot affect the weather.
Then a third nation has a fire and cannot produce the product. They will ultimately buy from the nation without the silly cost increases.
Its economic suicide.
Yea, that is not how that works...
taxes are and policies are had over products SOLD in a country, products that are exported are not part of this.
>> The move to make the economy more environmentally friendly must either be driven by increased government control to ensure that environmentally friendly products and lifestyles are more economically advantageous or by the consumer becoming more conscientious and making more of an effort to shun environmentally unfriendly products.<<
Government control cannot be imposed without massive tariffs ruining free trade as we know it keeping foreign competitors who are not subject to such laws from dominating the market with lower priced goods.
This is why you enforce these laws on anyone wanting to sell the products in your country, union, whatever.
As for Flint, sure, you shouldn't trade in your car early for a greener car, cause that would defeat the point. However, if you are going to buy a new car, you might as well look into the greener option.
I'm not really sure about the political value of this thread...
I am moving this to general, i'll move it back if one of you can convince me to do so.
holland and belgium have an infrastructure that is probably better than the one in the UK, never got to host the WC before, and (especiallyy holland) has always been forerunners in football.
As for WFS, even if you don't like football, you surely will appreciate the free public transport during the tournament ![]()
aaaaanyway
beckham is a bleeding moron, and holland deserves the WC more than england does.
London already got the Olympics.
I'm kinda afraid spain deserves it more than holland does ![]()
i'm not going to have the discussion if there is a global heating effect or not. scientists can not agree on that, why would we, people who have done no research about it what so ever, be able to.
the thing is, a volcano doing this is no reason to not be carefull with the world, one way or another. there's no point (ab)using things you don't need to (ab)use.
glad to see you chose a central place ![]()
Yes, you can argue that if nature is doing it itself, you don't have to hold back either. We're going to die anyway.
Or, you can try to compensate a bit more, and stay alive.
Sorry to hear you got fired, flint. Hope you get back in action soon.
Guys, as I said, this may or may not be an interesting discussion, but get it it's own thread.
This thread was not designed to discus that flood.
it's funny how you break your own proposal in the same post you propose it in.
I am not gay.
Other than that, the rules for this forum will not change. The constitution is more a code of conduct. Posters can take it upon themselves to "enforce" this, by not replying to people not honouring the code.
