I like David Beckham. He may not be the sharpest tool in the box but he seems like a nice guy. You can't hold it against England that London has the Olympics. The press coverage of the England bid team is pretty bad though. People constantly resigning, dodgy dealings and someone has insulted the Spanish and Russians now. I think the bid team seems to have been a bit of a farce

Great work Flint, you've taken a conversation about a sporting event and out of the blue made a completely bigoted remark which is completely out of place, unprovoked and inappropriate.
I suggest you crawl back into whatever hole you came from and keep your close minded and offensive views to yourself.
Just taking every chance I cam to show double standards.
You have to keep at it to make it sink in.
Marriage is one word, there are acceptable alternatives including
Life Partnership (aka Life Partners, already existing in US language to stand for two of the same sex in a life long relationship)
Consortium (aka Consorts, a historical, sex neutral means to show one is in a life long contract with another)
United (aka in Union, a means to show togetherness in permamence, no historical contex, but has great credence in the meaning of the words United and Union)
And my posting here is cause as another thread shows politics can happen in these threads so long as it starts supposedly nonpolitical (I deem soccer political as it can get in Europe!)
I honestly don't care who gets the world cup. As long as I don't get hindered by a mass of drunken football fans (as footballfans and beer rarely goes well) and it doesn't turn out to be a economic catastrophe, I don't mind though.

But you have to admit out of most countries in Europe England is pretty well equipped to deal with the world cup mania
