Yup. How else do you explain the stupid investment madness... that just happened to occur under Bush... and not in any other time in recent history?

A lack of government regulation?
No, it was government intervention that started it. Government quotas.
Balz,
Democracy won't work in the middle east for cultural and economic reasons. And while some dictatorships come to ruin, other don't (like Saudi Arabia).
Kissinger was timid? WTF? What are you on?
And boy are you an extremist wanting to enforce a pointless goal like abstinence so ruthlessly... no wonder the Republican party is losing support.
Well, in that case I'm not very scientific. But considering that there are an infinite number of theories to explain the data, scientific models aren't very good for answering the why.
Nevertheless, I have a preference for them. They have explanatory coherence (my way of talking about the why) and have predictive success.
Balz,
A school in LA... A school of impoverished hipsters doesn't count, lol. But granted, this condom stuff is nonsense. While a condom will delay the consequences of being stupid, you'll still feel the consequences of being stupid. We need to teach youth to have safe sex, and that includes monogamy and regular testing. Teaching condoms is inefficient and is not teaching safe behavior. But likewise, abstinence is equally stupid.
Oh, some dictators come to ruin thanks to their stupidity. But democratically elected governments are even more temporary.

I suspend judgment on that, because I don't know. For all I know I could be a brain in a vat, or to use a similar concept you mentioned, in The Matrix.
Despite that though, I am still sticking to sense experience for practical reasons.
Who cares why he does. He needs practice debating and he isn't a philosopher. He has potential though.
But the reason I gave is a good reason to prefer scientific models over religious models, in general.
Balz,
50% drop outs and 20% teen pregnancy... you cooked that up didn't you?
And supporting dictators works, just maybe not in a few instances.

i fall back to it, because you contradict yourself on the base lvl, i cant reason with someone who doesnt make any sense. now answer the question, and maybe you'll learn something about yourself. if you believe there is no proof that anything we sense exists, why do you believe it exists?>
It has practical value. Even if I'm a brain in a vat, relying on models with predictive success (even if my illusion) is much more practical than one that isn't.
Science and Christianity may have equal epistemological value, but they do not have equal predictive value.
Chris,
Abstinence education and spreading democracy in the middle east are examples of a lack of pragmatism.
The Republican party needs to stick to free-market economics and a self-interested/goal directed foreign policy, and abandon all this religious and social authoritarianism crap.
I don't know what the hell I am. Einstein called me a Liberal, haha.
Balz,
No he's just hyper sensitive or trolling. The only one around here who's evil is me.
Oh, I've been out of the loop for over five years. It's not like I bother to notice much on IC's members, other than the entertainment offered by the likes of Joe4444 and his latest religious rant.
And yes, SD is a troll.

Oh come now. It's true.
That's over two years old. But it's ofc just epic.
It's what inspired me to call women "depreciating assets."
Einstein is well known here as a narcissist. He has made outrageous claims about his credentials on more than one occasion. That said, he isn't dumb, but the fact is we know little about his personal life.
I'm debating the logic of Trinitarianism, which is a doctrine of a religion. It's not religion as a whole though.
I am talking about the Christian concept of the trinity. It's bs. Of course, I recognize that there are Christian traditions that do not believe in the trinity, and some were very respectable traditions during the early founding of the religion.
But, I am going to argue that the Trinitarian view makes no sense. To say that Jesus is God but is also the son of God (independent of the identity of God) is speaking nonsense. That's saying A = B and A = not-B. It violates simple rules of Logic, such as the Law of Non-contradiction. Now while you could argue that we just can't grasp the concept of the trinity, that's basically a lame cop-out for an obvious logical problem.
Now convert to Nontrinitarianism!
Sun Tzu also warns against fighting prolonged wars, lol.

At least I live a good and leisurely life
. You have what, 2.5 hours of leisure, and maybe another few hours talking to yourself in the car?
Omg. Syek, once my attacker when in Tigrine's tri, lowered himself to a TI...
Skoe,
LOL. What do you propose I do?
Naw. I got out plenty this year. I went to Uni on Tuesday and Thursday during the Fall and Spring of this semester. While I had to get up for my 9:30 class in the Spring, I managed by going to sleep at 3:00 am and then take a nap when I got home. Then on the other days my day was just like it is now, with a few days set aside for studying. Yes, I manage a 3.53 gpa (upper 15% of my class) with little effort. Now it's summer, and I'm going to relax!
However, my social life isn't totally non-existent. I have joined an Atheist organization. There are really good people there. One couple is an Anthropologist and a Lawyer, and I love talking to them after the meetings. There's also a single woman there who I started talking to, and she hosts the socials. I'm going to the next one that's coming up in June
.
After school, there are a few professors, mostly in my major, who I might chat to on a day for approximately 30-45 minutes. Otherwise, I have friends back at home that I talk to. I am also talking to a girl from WA on the phone and Skype who I met while playing an online game.
Then, of course, I have acquaintances in my apartment complex who I go to the bars with every so often. Or if I feel like getting laid, I go to the bank and call my girl.
Otherwise, I can't stand people in general, and I'm better off minimizing my contact with them.
Kemp,
Lol. This is Sparta!!!
Here's my day, pretty much every day (unless I have school).
1:00 pm - Wake up and check computer
1:45 pm - Get out of the shower
2:00 pm - Finish brushing teeth and dressing
2:30 pm - Finish meal one
2:30 pm - Play computer games, post on forums, watch you tube, surf the net, or check email
4:00 pm - Meal 2, then computer continued
7:00 pm - Meal 3, then computer continued
11:00 pm - Meal 4, then computer continued
3:00 am - Meal 5, then computer continued
5:00 am - before bed snack, then computer continued
5:45 am - bed
I think it's perfectly right if I have the most might, thanks to my followers or personal qualities, to take from you for my own benefit.
Lets say this. If there's extreme poverty in the US, I will care. If there's extreme poverty in Australia and women are selling themselves as prostitutes to make ends meet, then I won't care.
