I would prefer a kind of game tutorial like ETW and such have. A quick guide that takes you past all different game scenario's (how to build, how to attack, how to... etc.). If you do this in JAVA or something you can make someone continue to the next step of the tutorial automatically. It would be done in a 15-30 minutes or so and would ensure people know how to do stuff.
