And the money is imaginary, so who cares? Do you feel it? My belly is full, and I'm still eating... yum yum yum
fractional bank system. odd way to think about it is the more debt we have the more money is in cycle. it is a dangerous system that seems to deman constant expansion but as bladenose said. i am not struggling to eat nor is anyone i know at this time. actually there are a lot of jobs starting to pop up in all the different markets so i would say that it seems we are on the road to recovery
and for the most debt stuff, it seems a political move to try and make this ressesion look as ba as possible for some reason. i have heard that comparisson for the last 4 years or so
hopefully we will now see stuff collapsing, I sold most of mah stockz in october and therefore missed most of teh insane rally that is going on
, i z gotz taz getz mez som cheapz stockz!!!
be a damn shame if we defaulted and brought down the world economy
yeah
too bad
hope it dont come to that
idd.

Never the less these are facts, and I do hold Obama partially responsible for it yes. He couldn't have prevented this crisis or high oil prices. But he could have done a lot more (or less) to handle the situation. Republicans are rightfully asking him to save more.
republicans screwed the average american for a major tax cut to the rich. obama may have had a solution to the problem but with the current system it doesnt matter. nothing changes because the big guys dont want it to.
The rich are the held in a bracket which taxes them 35% already. Everyone recieved tax cuts between 2002 and 2003, not only the rich. Most people under 20k don't pay taxes (representation without taxation), and actually receive money. Actually, last I checked USA has the highest corporate tax in the world (35+%). You realize these corporations are the ones funding nearly everything in America, it certainly isn't you paying billions in taxes. There is no reason they should be based in America, once upon a time it was because of our educated population and policies on property rights (but thats changing). Shoot, if I had a multibillion dollar business, I'd move to Cyprus with their 10% corporate tax rate.
I bet there is a first class infrastructure in Cyprus
that is all irrelevant, since in other parts of the world taxes are much much higher, and rich people always, ALWAYS pay FAR less than they theoretically should because they can afford tax planning. Many western companies do not pay any tax in their home countries for example.

Cyprus is not a country
Not a country, property of Turkey.
only the northern part.. the bigger southern part is not
"Some people think the Federal Reserve Banks are the United States government's institutions.
They are not government institutions. They are private credit monopolies which prey upon the people of the United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign swindlers"
because its the american dream. have a 14 billion dollar credit card
and we have it! cha ching!
I thought the American dream was that a lying, cheating degenerate can prosper.
cookie for the reference.
Do you think China would fund a Bail Out if we declared bankruptcy?
With China owning most of US debt I doubt they would let the US declare bankruptcy as easily as Americans are able to do in their system, China would start repossessing everything the US owns... See it as the big bank (china) taking the house of the idiot with the huge debt (US).
Bankruptcy would be the end of the US.
PRC: Why won't you pay up? We got papers here say you owe us billions of dollars.
USA: Very nice papers too; you can arrange them in a frame for some modernist posters.
PRC: I don't know how a modern country can just tell the whole world to go pound sand, the contracts are worthless! What if the People's Republic of China were to...uh...damn!
USA: Ah, the bitter irony.
problem for the US is that if they were to pull a trick like that, not only china would be pissed, but the rest of the world too ![]()
@RD:
papers are only agreements, nothing more nothing less. Someone needs to back m up.
@primo:
no they won't. As long as it doesn't happen to them.
besides, china's never gonna push it. They will literally starve to death. What will they eat without US import? children? Russians?
China's building up its domestic market. In the close future it will be able to afford pushing it.
Also agreements can have a lot of meaning when they are international agreements and the country you made the agreement with is supposed to be "the leader of the free world", the champion of democracy and the enforcer of law and order.
And aside from china, a lot of countries own property or have invested in the US. They would not like it if their possesions suddenly lose all of their worth. --> US loses it's reputation and its allies.
Good example is Iceland: UK and Netherlands now hate Iceland cuz Iceland wouldn't refund the money the UK and Netherlands lost due to the IceSave scam.
@risingdown:
-the average chinese is still very poor. Differences are huge and tensions high.
-China is supossed to be the safe haven of the working class. Champion of equality and fairness. Don't make me lol with such things.
-I often hear the freedom/democratic rethoric but hardly ever law/order almost since the beginning of WW2.
"And aside from china, a lot of countries own property or have invested in the US. They would not like it if their possesions suddenly lose all of their worth. --> US loses it's reputation and its allies."
Thats why they won't loose their worth if US doesn't payback china. But it will prevent other countries from choosing china's side in this issue.
Iceland will survive. Despite their size and the crisis they'll live with consequences great but little compared to what happened. Nice example idd.
China will never push it. It will backfire as world markets go down. And again, they will starve. The country is on the brink of a total revolution. They cannot take any more internal tension without braking up.
