you must earn a lot ![]()
No personal insult meant but you never answer this point: The ps won't have to agree to a transfer. The transfer would happen automatically. And no flamisch politician could reform it. It would be electoral suicide.
"Also; I checked your statements, and you're wrong."
I don't understand. You say I am wrong then... post figures proving my point?? And pensions will only go up...
"So you'd -again- rather throw away any of our chances on reform, just to deny the other side a piece of what they want?"
No. I would just deny the other side a very particular piece to become regional. Its only fair. I said nothing of other matters. Another thing you seam to forget is that making it an authority for the region isn't the only way to reform.
"Of course the PS wants as much as possible from us. That's what gives us the leverage the countermand, and the one pushing our lever now is a fat guy who for once doesn't care about being prime minister."
He simply can't become it. But yes its good thing. But not what the PS wants in return. I can't say it enough. Its going to ruin Belgium. While the spa is rather realistic and is more specific in what social measures they can and can't do, the PS is the exact opposite of that. They think the economic crisis isn't really a crisis and everything would be OK as long as we keep spending. Apart from that the party is still largely corrupt as any party with their power would be.
If they have clear indications they should have the right to do this.
oh, and zoz:
"There is no crisis, not really, and if there is one, there's no need to do anything about it, like, now, or in the coming time, or so."
That is a sentence anyone in the ps could have said. But they decide the economic agenda now don't they?
@zoz:
"You're not thinking realistically. De Wever is not going to get all he wants, because the entire institutional system is rigged against it. Wake up. You'd like 150, ask for 200 and get 100. Refusing anything less than 200, which you do, gets you in a sad lonely and powerless place: opposition."
He can't go for little changes, that would be electoral suicide. So IF he succeeds it also means the PS gets a whole lot in return. Now if you think the PS only has a walonian version of the spa program you are mistaken terribly.
"Seriously; how would you make that kind of 'money-back' demands happen the way the state is now, short of revolution and coercion?"
That is very simple. Pensions are a far bigger cost then unemployment aid. And Flanders is going to have the biggest part of the oldies. It is a HUGE amount of money and only need one mevrouw nee to counter any reforms. It would mean the transfers to Flanders would be much larger as any transfers to walonia ever were.
You don't have to do anything to achieve it except from doing nothing. That's the joke.
"2. Whatever we can get we should get."
Most things are European already. And no it would be ridiculous to split up the army, to split up the police or foreign matters. Not only will it be very costly, but also ridiculous.
They also caused this stagnation. They quite sooner. Thats all.
But you're not thinking it over. What will happen if he gets his "reform" you think?
1.) The biggest socialist reform in the history of Belgium PS style comrade zoz.
2.) Part of the social system will come to flanders. It can't be everything because the PS is against it. So it will be things like pensions.
THIS IS A DISASTER. After all this years of flanders paying walonia, walonia has to pay flanders back (there are far more old people in flanders)... and then we say no thank you, keep your money.
"The fact that it's not well known is a bad thing by itself."
Bief is right, but the mistake lies with the media and the people themselves. Altough it would be a good thing if the EU institutions began to spread more info.
@chris:
The parliament is directly voted by the people. You are talking about the EU council I think.
Take into consideration we come from only one person and doubled our membership in less then 3 days!
"On top of that, nothing is stopping Flanders from becoming an EU member state."
That is simply untrue. The procedure to become recognized as a country and to become a EU member both take some time. If they are allowed to that is.
And yes Bief, most things are decided on EU level. Most laws made on national level are only implementations of a EU guideline.
@east:
"errr health care bill is not good enough for you?"
Ofcourse not. A GOOD health care bill would mean something. He made it even worse. What he passed gives power mainly to some companies in this particular area. Even if you are a hard line communist you need to agree with this because it kills any chance on an affordable health care in the future whatsoever. The only amazing thing in this whole disaster is how cunning he is to get away with all this and turn it into a good thing.
"what do you expect, to have him walk on water or something??"
I want him to try....in a see with a lot of sharks. Then he can't get the free health care he need, but of course he can pay for it by American tax money again because he is the president.
No zarf, I'm a true fartist. You simply don't understand!
They already make the biggest part of the laws we have. There isn't enough attention for the European level. People focus to much on their own national gov.
I was disappointed in Obama almost from the start. Not that I expected much to be honest but I gave him a fair chance. I'm still waiting for his first brilliant act to happen as president of the united states. He has caused one disaster after another instead.
So the result of the election spreads fear amongst all other European countries. For the first time in history they are interested in Belgium politics.
For who doesn't know why, the NVA, a "separatist" party who wants to split up Belgium, has won the elections with a massive score.
Why split belgium when it is going to be europe anyway?
"I am a Fartist because I refuse to submit or go quietly."
ROFLMA@ chris
I am one of your folowers from now one, O great GodFarter.
lol
Wilders is playing it quit smart, saying to everybody who wants to hear it, he wants to compromise.
Rutte promises 3 weeks. Thats a stupid thing to do. It gives more power to the parties he needs to form a gov. (PVV and PVdA)
I wouldn't even dare to vote there
@bief:
"The forming of a governing coalition will be interesting."
lol. you mean very long. Its going to be the same way in belgium.
@WFS:
the only truth in them is that the people who participated with some probability told them the opinion the polls show.
1.) You ask only the opinion of a few people out of many.
2.) They can tell what they want.
3.) The people who have to note these opinions down (it often happens via telephone) can mishear or misinterpret what they hear.
4.) Those people can also note what they want.
5.) The questions can be misinterpreted, or can be to simple.
Next to that, the group interrogated is already very selective because they wanted to participate and have time to do so.
I worked as a programmer for a company who made polls long time ago. You would laugh at the way it is done. I keep telling everybody it is a lie. They often adjust figures so the result is possible in their eyes or to manipulate public opinion.
Its good VB has many votes. It makes sure votes from stupid people don't count.
"polls are unreliable by default.."
Every time I try to tell somebody that they often say: "polls are unreliable but there is some truth in it". Then usually follows a brilliant conclusion explaining the result.
