Let me rephrase again:

a)  Who thinks we should re-evaluate, repair, change, or replace our society's system, because, due to new technology or other factors, it is possible for there to be more opportunity for people to be able to PROVIDE FOR THEIR OWN essential needs?

Or

b)  Who thinks we should not re-evaluate, repair, change, or replace our society's system, because and all the current frustrations humans face in PROVIDING FOR THEIR OWN essential needs is being adequately addressed by our current system?

neither, many people, including myself acknowledge that there is room for imprvoment. so we support change, just not the type of change you describe is the first option.

"Stealing from the rich and giving to the poor is alright in a medieval fairytale like Robin Hood, but not in the real world.

That's not what I'm condoning."

if thats not what you're condoning. and you want the system to provide for disabled people unable to get their own essential needs, then how do you propose on giving it to them? because the only obvious  way to give people things they dont have is to take it from someone else.

"No its saying everyone should be able to grow their own fruits."

no, he said "No, to me it means surviving with dignity and economic opportunity: food, shelter, housing, healthcare, education."

"It says nothing
about the taking of other peoples things."
ok, now if a system is supposed to provide these things for everyone who cant get it themselves, where does the system get it?

"I do not believe the use of the word
"essential" has been used either..."

The statement simply suggests that if a certain point is reached where people cannot
obtain the basic necessities in life, regardless of their effort, then the situation needs
to be somehow fixed."

it is saying that if someone doesnt have access to the fruits of someone else's labours, who doesnt want the fruit taken by people the system needs to be fixed so that it is available to them regardless of the person's feelings who created the wealth, as long as the thing he desire is deemed a "essential need"

"No, to me it means surviving with dignity and economic opportunity: food, shelter, housing, healthcare, education."

education, aye? before many of the things that we now consider part of basic education was ever taught, everyone in the world lacked essential needs? healthcare, so the medicine that was discovered last week, needs to be available for someone to have their essential needs, and everyone in the past was deprived of their essential needs. food, so people shouldnt have to work for food, they should just leech off of others? nothing that is a product of someone else's work should ever be considered an "essential need"; its just bullshit. and because nothing that is a product of another human is an "essential need" there are no essential needs any system should provide.

YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO ANYONE ELSE'S WORK

it is never consistentent, sometimes amd has the best value for the money, and sometimes intel does; just another example or why intel needs a bias in the marketplace inorder to maintain their markertshare, teh vast majority of people buying a processor dont know shit about what they're buying.

"The U.S. goes to war for no reason "

why are you guys actually arguing with him? he's an idiot. he thinks the US had no reason to go to war. he thinks that one day, Bush thought "you know what? there isnt enough blood and hardship in the world; lets starts a war" there is no debating with such delusional people.

i'd also like to point out how you infer its ok for what the US calls "terrorists" to fight for what they think its right, but when US politicians or soliders do, they're ending the hope of liberty.

i agree, the people that were intentially targeting civilians in vietnam were terrorists; but that doesnt make the entire US millitary a terrorist organization. the US millitary discourages such actions, not encourage like al-queda does.

""use of violence" perfectly describes every war the U.S. has fought in."

perfectly describes every war ever fought....

"What gives the U.S. the right to deem all people who fight against oppressors as terrorists?"

we dont. we call people, using what is generally accepted by the world as terrorist tactics, terrorists.

"Is it that maybe they use suicide bombs and the U.S. doesnt? Does that make them terrorists? I hope not because I remember a American revolutionary who said "give me liberty or give me death""

lol, no, its not because they use suicide bombs and the US doesnt, it is them disguising themselves as civilians and targeting civilians.

first of all, im not an anarchist, im a libertarian; i just pointed out that socialists have turned what anarchy is into something it isnt, to make it look bad, because they want big government.  2nd, where the hell did you get this private army fantasy from? sounds like your fantasy, not mine. and anarchy does exist on a small scale all over the place.

"Anarchy = gang rule, whoever has the biggest private army wins, "

thats not anarchy. what makes a government a government? gang rule is government rule. every time someone infringes on the freedoms of someone else, they're governing over them, and isnt anarchy.

also, in intel's defense; the vast majority of the home computer market doesnt know the different between a e7400 and a q8200; if the places people bought computers werent biased towards intels, even if intels had the superior chips, they would loose vast amounts of market space to amd; simply because of people's ignorance on cpu's.

i doubt it, gaming on the pc will still be popular. sony and microsoft spent more money then they could ever expect to earn when they developed the playstation 3 and xbox 360; neither will be willing to do it again; pc's will have superior computing power, and will have games that are visually superior to their game console counter-parts. the one main hurdle of pc gaming is piracy, companies dont want to develop games that 1 copy could be put on 1,000 different computers; but anti-piracy software is getting better and better.

littlepaul, i think you misread my post, i was saying amd's newest chips are competitive with Intel's. and it was purely a response to someone who said Intel had better chips, which even before AMD came out with their newest chips wasnt the case for servers and supercomputers; but being the new phenom II's being the most visible example for regularly consumers, i simply referenced it. i wasnt saying one company is evil, or should be bankrupt or whatever. i agree, competition is important.

wrong, most ideologies have that. you just dont consider many ideologies to be pragmatic. but what is pragmatic is subject to one's ideology.
