Yeah, the fmod interface has its upsides too so I went looking for it:

and:

and:

and:
http://www.imperialconflict.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=222862#p222862

And while I was looking, I found this too:
http://www.imperialconflict.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=27747
Whatever happened to that patent?

And I found this piece of text as well (from the stockmarket forum game):
Einstein: "If a long term game if Obama wins invest everything into any companies Al Gore has stock in. The government will fund those to a fare thee well and you will get a huge payoff. If McCain wins invest asap to BP and other oil companies who drill ocean waters for oil."

That's always the case.
Our premier was elected with an unheard amount of votes: 800k on his name alone (the votes for the party not included). And after 5 years, his government fell once more and his reputation is more or less damaged to the degree he can't hold his position in this next election.

At least Bush had another 4 years before that to screw things up and earn his reputation. The other four he spent on screwing thing up even worse and destroy his succesor's reputation.

Quite an accomplishment, I must say!

We haven't heard about a massive flooding recently on our news.. So all in all it should mean it's of a smaller scale than Katrina. Not that it really matters, but it means we're less informed. If those people are forced to live in a stadium for several weeks like at the time of Katrina, I'd consider comparing it.

The BP disaster is terrible and Obama visited the scene (we got that on our news), but I don't think the man can do a lot there. If footage would show up where he was cleaning animals, you'd call it a cheap publicity stunt anyway..

"Billy Connolly is funny. The initial post is not."

Now we're talking personal taste. But I'm glad you agree it's a joke. wink
I wasn't roaring from laughter either.

Not at all. When you make a joke, you generalise things to put them into a certain perspective to fit a joke. It's always been done.
Here's a good example:

The facts are true in a way, but they're just made more "flat"...

Everything in the world, as serious or ridiculous as they might be, deserves to be mocked..

"Where is the punch line?"

Humour doesn't always need a punchline.

I thought the first post was rather good. It's fits the category "it's funny cause it's true!" rather well..
You'll argue that it's not true at all, but that's not of importance in this case. It filters reality to fit the joke..

What really troubles me Flint, is that you can crack jokes about Obama and the democrats, but feel offended when it's the other way around. That's dangerously close to fundamentalism, lad! Soon you'll have to invade yourself!! (Look, another  joke about republican politics!)

Flint, you made similar posts about democrats and even Obama during or short after the election campaign. You're clearly the last one who should complain.. And in many ways it's no different than the muhammad cartoons, wich the west clearly and rightly claimed to be mere jokes, rather than accusations..

These are jokes. Politically inspired jokes are still jokes.

I say it's hydrogen and nuclear fusion!

BTW: Oil is also used to create medicine and a lot more..

I never understood the point of pick up trucks. They're the size of a school and as aerodynamic as the great wall of China.
I only know one person (well, I know where he lives) who drives one, and he's a pimp..

It's the world upside down: Pick ups are bought for reliability and strength, but in those regions they build houses of wood!

"I have long felt Europeans and even half this nation do not know of US political history."

I'm not going to lie and claim I know all of them (I do think I might score rather well though). But the question is why would we have to know your entire political history? We know the highlights of it, and that should do.
You probably find this sacriligious, but when I was given the choice between American history and the history of the Islamic world, I chose the latter. Simply cause it's larger and less known. One could learn a fair deal about American history through documentaries and even films on TV....

Besides, I could make a similar list about European/Russian/... political history and see how you do.. tongue

What are those supposedly events?
And what is the proof it's Obama's fault and not coincidence?

You're not trying to discuss anything, you're making propaganda. tongue

The true questions are these:
- What's the proof for those claims? Those numbers are very high and need something to back them up
- If they are true: why would the state meddle in those affairs?
- Is it necessarily a bad thing, and why?
- Are those state actions better of in private compagnies?
