Israel Worried over Russian Reaction To Aid to Georgia
(IsraelNN.com) Israel is worried over possible Russian diplomatic retaliation for Israel aid to Georgia, and the Foreign Ministry has suggested halting all military aid to the country. Speculation has risen that Israel has armed Georgia because of a vested interest in Georgia pipelines that pump oil destined for Israeli ports.
Israel earlier this year announced it was reducing aid and sending to Georgia only defensive military equipment. The Foreign Ministry fears that continued Israeli aid to Georgia would make it more difficult to discourage Russia from shipping anti-aircraft missiles to Iran.
