I think every 20 years the US has this downward trend. But dont mistake that the US has always come through with breakthrough inventions. this time i expect it to be a hydrogen car? electrfic car? maybe very efficient hybrid? whatever it is it will happen in the US. Everyone can criticize the US but then again you expect us to come up with the inventions to save the world.

I know you will all try to prove that you dont really rely on us. so go ahead but the fact is fact. history repeats itself and i think it will repeat itself once more. get ready for the next 20 years of US dominance

Well i know the hydrogen car is already made. i am talking about making new advancements in which it would make it profitable to mass produce and sell. right now i know it is not profitable and only the mega rich can afford one and you have to be on a list to buy it. But i am sure that if they made some advancements to it americans wont mind driving it even if it did not come in an SUV. They will have to if gas goes to $10 per gallon. And there is new technology in america that scientists are working on that makes batteries very very small. If they work on that they might be able to make an electric car that can run for a long time.
