"As for the war quote, no nation was ever attacked for being to strong."

Oh you're wrong! Most wars in early modern europe were fought for exactly that. The Anglo-dutch wars are  fine examples of that.

"Well McCain was supposed to be our 'middle' while the extremely hard left guy got elected."

America doesn't know any hard left. Defenatly not in one of the two major parties.

There's only one quote I actualy believe in: "The sane people get it right in the end" ~ Billy Connolly

"u make useless round trips just because you can, doncha"

I wouldn't call them useless. While everyone will be stuffed together in a stadium for about 2 hours, I'd use the free public transport to visit cities I haven't been before. Amsterdam, Liege and so on..

One main advantage of organising the world cup here:
finally there would be a world cup with decent beer as an option tongue

Another (actual) advantage is that we're part of the Shengen region, so it should be rather easy and fast for European countries to fly over. That could relieve the stress on airports and such a bit more compared to Russia (for example; their passport checks are notorious)..

I dunno, for a guy who duped his own people into murdering tens of millions of their own, it seems a bit misguided. You can say all kinds of "clever" things, but when they're completely backward they don't usually get remembered as "great quotes" except by backward people.

Or by relativating people. Your opinion is based on who said it. I could list quite a list of quotes you'd like until you know who said it. It all depends on how closely you link the quote back to the person's reputation/deeds.

Another great one: "When we hang the capitalists they will sell us the rope" ~ Stalin

I'm no fan of Stalin, but it's a great quote.

It didn't break me and it won't.
But I wouldn't mind to meet you though.

the only song I know of him I really adore (I'm not really a fan of metal).

I liked his singing on Roger Glover's "love is all (butterfly ball)"

On top of that, Bobbejaan Schoepen died as well! I couldn't find a decent original version, but here's a good cover of his most famous song:

I honestly don't care who gets the world cup. As long as I don't get hindered by a mass of drunken football fans (as footballfans and beer rarely goes well) and it doesn't turn out to be a economic catastrophe, I don't mind though. tongue

A Belgian TV-station started airing the American version of The Office. Not bad at all, but Steve Carell doesn't come close to Ricky Gervais... He doesn't have the awkward timing of him and he makes it a light-version of the original one. It needs the silent tragedy!

"Global warming people want to reduce the co2 output by an amount less than what this volcano produces."

Proof or you're wrong. As far as I was informed on the news, the emissions of greenhouse-effect gasses were even less than the planes that couldn't go up because of it. This is the long term impact obviously. This doesn't contain the temporary effects..
