how about loosening the regs on patented medicines so the prices of medicines sold to the hospitals plummets? soon as the hospitals aren't spending most of their money paying for unneccesarily overpriced medications they can afford to buy better equipment and hire more staff etc, providing a better standard of care. and don't give me that shit about them needing to keep the prices high to fund back into research. i know research is expensive and necessary, but with the sheer amount of medicines that get used even reducing the cost slightly would only really effect the high bonuses that the management cream off the top

A unique understanding of statistics helps me here. If the average is 3% needing major health help for the working class (assumption, its a very low number though) and the average person misses less than a week over a year (easily taken by work place sick policys) then lack of significant healthcare is not an issue for employers. Since the total time lost is less than the total for unemployment the net benefit of healthcare is a big null.

they don't take time off work when ill due to there being no healthcare or support for incapacity. they simply can't afford to be ill, so struggle on regardless. this causes major problems for the companies they work for as ill people are not at full capacity so make mistakes, which costs everyone in the company time and money to put right, not to mention loss of corporate image. if you went to McDonalds and the fry cook was sneezing everywhere, would you ever go back again? I think not. Healthcare, and the support structure for incapacitated workers is vital for a successful, sustainable economy.

the US wasn't created as a place for people fleeing persectution (unless those people were going to turn into slaves for use by the white man).  it was created as an annexe of England, France, Holland and a couple other countries.

The planet will "always" be here... However i am not so sure if "our planet" will...

this planet will not 'always' be here.  eventually the sun will either expand so far that we are overtaken by it, or it will go nova and we shall blow up. only way humanity and any lifeforms we care to save (wow playing god again surprise surprise) is to figure out a way to colonise other planets
