After much waiting (lol) and anticipation, Heat 3 of the 2011 failcup is now underway. There will be a couple of things to note in this Heat though. Contestants have been ranked in seeds that will permanently determine the match ups from this point forward. This is based on differential of votes for this year and ranking during last year's. BC Cougar being the returning champion is the #1 seed to win it all followed by Flint at #2 who finished 3rd in last year's voting. Cougar will get a bye this round and will automatically advance to the next round.

(1) BC Cougar

- Known for coming up with some of the worst strategies since Einstein himself
(The IC one, not the smart one). He's also the 2010 champion who was so fail,
he didn't even claim his prize.

(2) Flint

- Once threatened to commit suicide if anyone in MW cancelled on his fam. He then cancelled
on Lew Lew and the other LT's when they were 8 ranks smaller and almost half his size. He was raided for 300 planets.

(3) Arganon

- Once tried to overthrow h4e as leader because he thought our fam bank system wasn't work.
We were #1 in NW and size for 90% of the round.

(4) Undeath

- Undeath has been on the modteam for several years. He has not been active in chat
or ingame since 2004.

(5) Glue

- In the first ICC, glue was drafted into a fam as their 7th player. He never logged on thus
causing them to lose. He later came around saying that it wasn't his fault they lost.

(6) Mizzle

- Mizzle was once killed off from his family after attempting to pass planets in pinwheel.

(7) Destroyyoutoo

- One of these is DYT. Does it matter who? http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs558.ash1/32515_1474207373080_1170540078_31380909_4647330_n.jpg

(8) Artic

- artic was the main attacker for Moulondrax's latest round in MW when they cancelled nap on h4e's fam.
Despite having more fleet and more savings, artic managed to crash it in 2 ticks thus ending the war.

(9) Luster

- Luster was once asked to clear Whiteshadow from his core in the last round of cap during ephase.
Whiteshadow had 7 planets portalling with 5 lasers on each. Luster managed to clear 2. He sent 3 fleets.

(10) Big Gary

- Was blocked every round for 5 rounds for multi/account sitting. He quit IC. Came back and was banned for harassment. Was given a 2nd chance
and was banned once again for threatening to kill KT in rl for blocking him for multi/account sitting.

(11) Jets

- His greatest rivalry in IC history was against Metrex when Metrex was in his 2nd round of playing. Metrex has
since grown more popular than him.

(12) Listos

- His greatest accomplishment in IC has been befriending KT in an attempt to be forum modded. Is still trying.

(13) IC Death

- Has lost every round he's ever played in since 2001. He's never retired from IC.

(14) Aleph

- With Tryme leading, Aleph in his noob round took fam bank and jumped fleet to kill Jets.
Aleph crashed and rebuilt his ground 4 times before tryme ultimately gave up planets for a nap. Aleph
is still doing the same thing.

(15) Elbe

- Elbe once caused his ICPG fam to lose after breaking multiple naps. He still admits to no wrongdoing.

(16) Nolio

- Once led an ICPG fam and made Flint/Einstein his first draft pick. He followed that up with artic.

(17) Happy Jedi

- His mother is better at IC than he is.

(18) Melvin

- After numerous attempts at finding a gf, he managed to find a girl interested in him. He now can't figure out
how to get her to be his gf.

(19) Primo

- Has posted roughly 8 threads retiring from IC and modship. He still mods but doesn't play IC.

(20) Render

- (no interesting stories come to mind)

(21) Flashy

- (no interesting stories come to mind)

(22) Gwynedd

- He quit forum modding because he was tired of being in a position of authority for stupid people and then "hacked" the forums.
He subsequently went out and became a police officer.

(23) Serenity

- (no interesting stories come to mind)

(24) TheBigOne

- Once went hunting during deer season and shot himself in the leg loading his rifle.

(25) dpenguins

- Married his wife in an attempt to sleep with her sister.

To be fair, I said I was closing the voting, I never said anything about the next heat being up in 12 hours =p

But anyways, I started this failcup at a bad time. I was on vacation for a week and then I had my brother in town from the navy and I just found myself super busy and super tired lol

But I'm about to go see harry potter and then I'll be free again so this will get back on track in a few hours. A few real hours, not Nolio hours =p

Hmmmm, from what I saw, there were too many naps and too many families going inactive afterwards. It just seems to me that it would be more viable to increase the number of systems and planets so that growth continues. With the way IC is nowadays, there are always going to be only 3-5 fams tops competing ftw. 2-3 alliances top gunning for the top 2-3 spots. Nothing you do will change that.

Increasing the number of systems will make it easier to find targets because as of now, if a family with 1k planets loses a war to a family with 1300 planets, the bigger fam will probably want 200 planets for nap payment. That's only 20% of that fam's planets which isn't a lot tbh, but considering how cores play a large factor in the way a round goes, that will likely end a fam's round because there's nowhere to expand.

Having more systems and more planets promotes smaller fams to keep growing and allows bigger fams to get shares with each other. And it would also be great to go back to 2.5 month rounds but...I don't think that's realistic anymore. Too few players and too many pnaps being made these days.

I would also consider adding a draft or two or make the fam 50% draft. I never really liked the idea of having only a couple of drafts. That was a lot more viable when there were more active players because then superfams get made. These days there are so few active players and families that you are better off having more active guys in active families. For example, look at 5060, h4e's fam. They got hit hard early on and never really recovered. But I bet in a MW with more systems and more drafts they'd probably be right at the top.

But with the current set up, you're going to find more people bored because there's nobody to fight and nowhere to explore and the people that they want to fight, they have no way to get shares with them anymore.

Nolio's record vs. Failshadow

4-0

Keep overrating yourself WS. You and I know better don't we? smile

I wonder how many tips impire has fed you so that you wouldn't fk up lol

Due to an oversight, a nomination was missed which resulted in 49 groups (I was doing this at 3am and it was a lot of work). To correct it, 2 more have been added. So with apologies, please vote for Primo vs. Ricking to those who have already cast their votes. Sadly, I didn't make the failcup list by doing these things perfectly =p

The Failcup 2011 tournament has now begun!!!!!

Here are the Rules
---------------------------------------------------------

Each player is seeded and placed into a pool of 100. It will be single elimination head to head battle for the failest of the fail. Once again the criteria of what "fail" means is strictly up to the voter. That person could be just slow witted, a person you'd never play with, a person you'd never eat with, a bad attacker, banker, mod, leader, speller, ANYTHING.

To vote
----------------------------------------------------------
Players will be matched up with another player. If you are in a group that includes yourself then you may NOT vote for yourself. If you don't know someone in a group then please do not simply skip that selection, just pick the person with the name you dislike the most or some other criteria big_smile. Copy and paste the voting list and then remove the player that you "don't" want to advance t the next round. For example:

- Official voting list

Group 1

Nolio vs. Stefan.

- Your Vote:

Group 1

Stefan

Pretty simple right? If not, then consider yourself a strong contender for failcup champion =p
In the event of a draw. I'll select 5 random people from chat and have them select a winner. If that doesn't work, I will simply flip a coin. If it lands on the side, I'll just put them in a cage and throw a rusty knife in there. Someone will lose.

Winners
--------------------------------------------------

Aside from the excitement of advancing and the fun and chatter we will have, the top 3 player will receive special prizes. #1 will win a not yet determined prize but will be announced when winners are placed. #2 and #3 will win a vip and a ty for being a good sport badge made of invisible material mailed to 1907 santa clause lane and available for pick up between 4:29 and 4:30 am on sundays only.

The deadline for voting will vary because...well...I'm a human and I have stuff to do =p But each Heat will more than likely be 4-5 days long to give time for voting and speculation. Winners will have a week to claim prizes. If that person is no longer participating in IC then their prize will be forfeited to another who is currently and actively around.

Disclaimer
-------------------------------------------------

This is not an attempt to be mean, rude, prejudiced or anything of that nature to anyone in the community. We have some fun people, we have some not so fun people here, but overall we've all contributed to what has grown to be a tightknit online family here over the past 10-11 years and as all families do, we argue and bicker but we are all still family. Anyone being completely out of line or disrespectful will suffer consequences such as forfeiture of prize, being removed from the tournament or otherwise. I realize people will campaign for or against votes but once again, lets all have fun and keep things like that to a bare minimum smile

Ok, I'm gonna vote ilu in order to draw it. But I'm fairly sure he's not mob =p

617

(339 replies, posted in General)

I'm not sure where this confusion business comes from. I made the least allegations last round and the only person I accused of being mob that wasn't was amok. Otherwise Gen, Primo and Wendy were mob =p

Also why is it that everyone feels I lie? I have never lied about my role ever lol

Though it is true that I have no problem watching the town burn if its entertaining. You guys have to admit that the double kill on "bulletproof" PS on night 1 is hilarious lol But its not like I have any control over that. I'm just a spectator big_smile

Anyways, voting Arnor.

Hi everyone. Failcup is back!!!!

Ok so for those of you who missed last year's version, this is the way it works:

Everyone "NOMINATES" 3 players of their choice to participate in the failcup. Those 3 players must not include yourself and if someone is relatively not known at all, such as Noir's multi's, then feel free to provide a brief explanation of why they are so fail. Failcup doesn't discrimitate big_smile

Also the definition of "fail" in the failcup is based on noobiness, silly decisions, inactivity every round, inability to succeed every round, lack of comprehension of the game or they could be just ugly. Whatever. Its for fun. We all fail in one way or another. I'll open this up through Monday and then I'll go ahead and begin the first heat shortly after. Last year we had 64 people. This year we'll aim for roughly 80 or so. Idk. It'll work itself out.

Anyways let the nominations begin!
