Well, there is no perfect system. You either have a coalition government with multiple parties, or you have the US situation where there's only 2 serious options.
Just because you are in a small party, does not mean you have no influence, and just because you have to work with/under someone from a bigger party doesn't mean you have no voice in a matter.
As shown in the last years, even a political party with 2 or 3 seats can significantly influence policy.
The US does *not* recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
And yes, all your allies were so absolutely jumping from joy with Bush Jr. in the white house.

well, of course you have to try to do it as balanced as you can
but when you think about it, is there such a thing as unbalanced mechaniscs? i think it is mostly a case of changing tactics around those mechanics. (of course this isnt the case for the warfare part)
well, the other candidate claimed jeruzalem was the capital of israel, not exactly smart either, and he made that mistake himself, where as i can't imagine obama making his own powerpoints.

If the system works this way, it works well, 2 bigger parties that will probably take to a 3rd to cement the deal.
If the system works like it did 2 years ago, it is a different matter entirely.
At the point where no party holds more than 30 seats out of a 150, it is split up too much.
I for one would encourage a higher treshold, so parties such as the SGP, CU, PvdD, and as of today GroenLinks would have to merge to hold any form of power, and not every nutcase (Hero Brinkman) could start their own party with the potential to take votes away from decent parties
As for my political view, I vote VVD. I am very much pro-Europe, and I shiver at the thought of a socialist government (especially if it includes the SP). Might as well rename our country to Greece if Roemer is ever to hold power.

Much like the pop defence rating, this is just an idea that popped up in my head.
How about creating a new unit, a scientist, obviously they would boost research.
Maybe, as a counter measure, you could remove research centers.
What do you guys think?

that's what would have been more logical, yes

as with a planet with 5m pop, you'd need to station 500k soldiers to counter
that's a lot for a smaller player
