"What do you contribute to the Politics forum through your presence here?"

Awesome. I contribute awesome.

The goal of any ideal political discussion is a break-down of positions and determinants of why who holds what position. It's an adult discussion in which all participants are offered a better understanding of why those who hold other positions hold those positions. Offered is additional supporting reason and evidence for those positions.

For instance, I used to question people over the abortion issue to find the fundamentals people disagreed on, which cuts through the ignorant bullshit and name-calling. I don't care one way or another whether your people kills their kids. Not my problem. But I can dissect an argument into real positions which respond to one another. It doesn't make people agree, but at least they can agree on what they disagree about. We can do a lot better than "baby killer!" vs "women demand the right to kill their kids!"

But most children cannot. So welcome to the IC politics forum! Ha ha ha.

Edit: I used to enjoy making fun of Justinian I's Nordic gods, but that got old after about 5 years. tongue

You are a troll, xeno syndicated, and should be banned.

There's something about threads about fluffy bunnies bribing the Czech government into poisoning the wheat supply of the underground Gnomes of Poland that just begs for hijacking. And you make such threads. Who can take such psychosis seriously? Nobody who deserves not to get trolled!

That said, [seriously... though that was all serious] this forum has always been a magnet for trolls and generally immature and uneducated [*cough*] posters. There's nothing that can be done about the demographics of the IC community. So the forum remains as it always has been (except with more of the bad parts, less of the good ones)... whatever that is. tongue

Why are people suggesting that getting an education and using one's intellect to not waste taxpayer money is somehow a gamble?

You had federal health officials misusing the word pandemic on national TV. It didn't take a genius to realize that it was a huge waste of resources. If you're too dumb to realize this, that's your problem.

How shocking, trashy people continue to act trashy....

Why can't we just deport them? Anyone up to the job, you have my vote.

They're pointing out that a common-sense approach to organization doesn't work when the threads are filled with the ignorant thoughts of uneducated children. tongue

This is just another example, Mr. BeebleBrix. There are whole nations you can study with the same findings.

I loved national federal employees misusing the words "epidemic" and "pandemic" and not getting fired or even mocked for it. These people hold well-paying jobs and don't even know the definitions of basic words involved in their business--and use them anyway.

If I was some health director in charge of warning the public about risks and clearly lied about ["misstated"] the information I had to share, I'd deserved to be fired if not imprisoned. That shit is serious.

Stating facts like that, you must be one of those extremist right-wingers who's about to go crazy and kill people.

Stop getting in the way of the media elites backing their corporate and political elites. They know what's best. And they want the power to enact it!

I love this focus on 'greed' as the reason your ass is poor. And scarcity of resources, as if nations utilize half of their national resources. Most of the nations we get our resources from are poor--we pay them to ruin their environments and sell us cheap labor. Exploitation ftw. And there are many countries rich off oil. The point is resources are only 1 factor, and many nations are doing well w/o a disproportionate supply. So maybe you should look further.

As for greed: Dumbest idea in this entire thread. Like somehow when someone earns millions he's inherently stealing it from you. Dream on.

I love all the Palin bashing because they were told to do so, not because they have anything specific she has said or done to go by. Good job making yourself look like an ignorant pawn with the intellect of a small child.

I'm not a member of any political party. Just an honest observation.

Nobody's greed has "made" you poor, you arrogant, ignorant slob.

It is ignorant thinking like yours that helps no one improve their standard of living and leads to masses promising and masses voting for handouts--hurting productivity and lowering your standard of living even further.

Class warfare does not benefit the lower class. It benefits the upper class, who laugh at your taking the bait all the way to the bank.

The internet and a mass of educational materials are available to you. But nobody is forcing you to get a real education. So it looks like you've answered your own question, for at least some of the world's poor: You choose to remain poor and do nothing about it but support policy aimed at making you poorer and more dependent.

Key, I want you to take all of your favorite CDs outside and burn them.

Because all of those artists who made that music that has enhanced your life over the years.... RRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAL [censored] high!

I'd go on to NASA engineers and such, but I don't want to make statements like that in public. big_smile

btw Rawrr, I was V.Kemp for many many years. I used my name for a while, but switched to this after google results on my name resulted in quotes about drug policy and such. smile

>>We all still believe in the American Dream.<<

Bullshit. Pansies believe in sharing misery equally. Unless they're the party/elite. Then they believe that we should share misery and they should share control of society. Just like the healthcare bill--it's for us, not them and their staffs.

People point out that social security is bankrupt. Others respond with outrage, suggesting that elimination of the social security entitlement is being proposed.

What's lost in the clutter of idiots is that no argument is the point. The point is that social security is broke. The point is that social security will not continue to exist without massive additional funding. The point is that you can only tax a nation so much until it becomes counter-productive and ruins the entire nation. There's a much bigger problem than debate over entitlements and what is reasonable/ideal. When they literally become unaffordable, holding the ideal that everyone deserves social security, welfare, health care, an education, etc. is worthless and you're left with a bankrupt government with no credit and anarchy, REGARDLESS that you hold the position that "everyone deserves them."

Those who are outraged at cutting back entitlements now are in for a rude awakening when basic math takes its toll and unsustainable spending eventually stops. Because, make no mistake, it will stop.

Double posted because I'm just that cool, and my posts contain like 5x your wisdom already. Ha ha ha. That's a joke. Get over it. tongue

I love the rhetoric used to deny the breaking of US law. (I'm referring of course to the Constitution.) It's not like civilization is built upon laws or anything, right? The barbarians who ignore all conventions of "civilized warfare" in favor of murdering civilians--We give THEM the rights of American citizens. While American citizens lose their rights. This is certainly going in a progressive direction. Pardon the pun.

I love the rhetoric used to label anyone with a problem of this flagrant illegal activity as an extremist. (Which exists, whether you agree with it or not--which is Einstein's point.)

"Oh, that huge chunk of the population which is disgusted with our obviously RETARDED and unsustainable debt creation is just a bunch of imbred redneck racists. We're the government and the sissies desirous of a nanny state. We can just spend more than we have forever and it'll work out."
That's pretty much the argument against outrage at the actions of the US government of late. Solid.

Empires and nations have risen and fallen for millenia. Some much sooner than others. Anyone dumb enough not to see that actions like those of our government contribute to the FALL portion of the cycle shouldn't vote out of general moral principle.

Maybe you shouldn't buy insurance from thugs and provide evidence so that those who break their contracts and deny covered medical work go out of business and to prison? What you describe as the great failure of American healthcare is already illegal. This legislation doesn't change that. You're just making up a reason, and pretending it (being ficticious) is justification. Plenty of insurers provide real medical care. They do it better than any government in the world does.

Let's hope it passes? Government is even worse, not better. Nobody envies any European or Canadian medical options over those of the US.

Separation of state from religion does not stop the state from passing laws on ethical grounds. If you're comfortable with putting needles in children's heads during birth in order to inject poison and "abort" the pregnancy, that's cool. But I'm not going to vote in support of the practice. Also, you're disgusting.

Use of the word "reform" here is inaccurate and misleading.

Nobody with an education supports this legislation. Yes, I said it.

Welcome to the eternal nanny state, where the state owes you everything for all of your life. Also, the state owns you.

Bunch of pansy [censored] ruining our great nation.

Where in the Constitution is the right to an education? It's a privilege we see great benefit in bestowing upon our younth; it benefits us and makes us stronger as a nation. I don't owe your dumb lazy kids an education. They can work through theirs like we have or live in your basement all their lives. That's between you and them. Don't drag me into it. It's not my responsibility.

If you want a nanny though you're age 20+, how about you go to [censored].

They're splitting up and keeping as much of the organization alive and functioning as they can. New names also keep them fresh for the next PR nightmare they'll inevitably create.
