Topic: MW war status and player controlled ranking system

I am trying to come up with a new system to rate fams each round and declare the true winner not based on the eor size win. size win encourages nothing but farming and asking planet for nap etc which is essentially killing the game.

the system i am proposing will be a lot like the PVC that are made now days but instead it keep track of each fams war and skirmish records, so player contribution from each fam is very important. so based on just my knowledge and what people have been telling me this round i will present you the ranking system for this round thus far of the top 3 currently due to only my knowledge.

1. Lets Make Love (3436) [57,76]     1283     8163262     69526

- 3427 +3 (good sor raid)
- 3423/3434 +2 (s4 clearning)
- 3438 +1 (semi farming)
- 3408 +2 (cheapish tactic)

TOTAL + 8

2. 1     ### #O## ##s# ##e ##L### ## ## (3409) [17,68]     1213     9437489     65717

- 3434 +1 (skirmish s3)
- 3423/3434 +2 (s4 cleaning)
- 3427 +1 (nw difference too much)
- 3408 +1 (good assist)

TOTAL + 5

3. 2Drunk2Find Delete Button (3408) [100,42]     920     5631255     61301

- 3407 +1 (helping ally)
- 3434 +3 (good raid)

TOTAL + 4

this is just a sneak peak of what i am trying to get at, most of the info will come from players in the fams, but it will be a good system to show how fams have dominated in the round instead of just going for that elusive size rank.

but let me try and explain how i think how you came up with this rating.

3436 has 8 points, because they raided 3427 at the start of round?
cleared 3423/3434 from sector 4
are semi farming3438 what ever that may be
3408 for cheap tactics



It is nice to see that someone is comming up with a new rating system, but this rating system is way of the scale. and you only know what happends in your own fam to be honest.

Rin tell people your fam number and player name, i dont want to feel like i am point out the obvious but lower ranked fams usually have bad organization or activity, player contribution is needed yeah.. it still seems like ranks are going to be lop sided

well clearly the lower ranked fam couldnt win this.... since u still have to dominate somewhat but it will stop the top fams all farming for the size win.

It may be better than current ranking systems but it is really diffucult to apply. it needs good cooperation between fams, and participants should have same approach. Maybe a Board could be found to evaluate and give ranks to the moves.

But imo it is still diffucult to apply this idea.

What about applying it to when a war is ended. When war is cancelled a survey is sent to the players in the warring families.

Survey could be something like:
How was the war initiated:
-NAP Cancelled
-NAP Broken
-No Warning

War conditions:
-Banker Raids
-Attacker Raids
-Spec Op Portal busting
-Fleet Portal Busting
-Spec Op against bankers
-NW Planet Swap
-Low NW core intrusion
-P-mode abuse

Results:
-Planets gained
-Planets lost
-Planets blown up

End War NAP:
-Planets paid
-farmed before NAP
-NAP without terms

You could apply points to the results or something

You could compare results from both families and throw out the highest and lowest rating ones to use the one in the middle. You could also compare the results that both fams gave and only use the ones that coincide

What gondor suggested is better imo but still unreliable.

I think the server should calculate these kind of things to get a more accurate rating.
such as best attacker rating includes, moral lost, planets gained, overwhelmed enemy how many times, etc etc. - then post the top 100 or something in the forum.

for Bankers i dont know anything on the moment.

When you join the family, have the player choose his role by having a check box appear.
- Pop Banker, CF banker, CF/TO Banker etc
and attackers
- Hardcore attacker, retaker, attacker etc

the server will keep this in mind when calculating the player his score.

Though this might require massive codeing. i dont know about that

every score rating we're players have to choose or fill in things aint accurate and can/will be tempered with to up the scores of their family one way or another.

Hmm too difficult to implement effectively i think. Perphaps ways to prevent farming could include...

I think 35% fam nw rule should go up to 50% possibly.

Also fam should have a limit on the number of planets they can grab from eachother. So, a big fam can only take a certain % of the smaller fams planets, depending on the difference in size between the fams. So the larger the difference in size between the fams, the less the bigger fam can take from the smaller fam. Whereas you can grab more planets from similar size and biger size fams.

These ideas could possibly reduce farming??
