Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

I never get to reading it decently, although I followed bits and pieces of it. When I read it completely, I'll comment tongue
At first glance it looks nice though.

I'll never know if it was worth the pain, but I still loved it more than anything in the world - it was my life.

Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

I've read all of it, the humour is dry, just the way I like it. I like it a lot.

I just suck at writing reviews.:P

Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

That's cool; a review is a review even if it is succinct. wink

Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

It's pretty good, but it took me a while before i realized it was a girl tongue

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

Good, that were bein' me intention.  And swab the deck, me Jolly Roger smile
It is somethin' I'm tryin' t' carry through th' whole thin', a naturally occurrin' subtlety rather than intentionally tryin' t' hide details, a way o' keepin' everythin' thar but not in an "in yer face" kind o' way.., me Jolly Roger like that fact that certain plot arcs be in th' background (Hope I di'nae spoil anythin' by addin' that).

Cool, I like the way you're moving it, but the style I chose seems to have you vexed;)

You need to learn about these ,,,,, things.

>_The last time a camaar passed here, a friendly that is, was some 200 years ago. Guess when construction of this station started.<

See?

and you're getting happy with the _ at the start of an entry. I used the _ to signify same day but different time, like hours apart, but it seems like you use them at the start of each line, implying a totally new entry every 30 seconds.

> _I put myself behind one of the docking lines and waited until it was my turn. And as it turns out I was in for another surprise.
_The last time a camaar passed here. A friendly that is. Was some 200 years ago. Guess when construction of this station started.
_ Yeah after that meaning they don't have anything that'll fit without harming the construction around the doors. Possibly destroying it.
_I know relavons have to take in every ship willing to dock in times of peace. It's the law.
_But still the guy in charge of this place had the nerve to question it. This is what he said, hold on I have it as a recording..
_"We on spacedock 32e23p also known as the Ventura regret to inform you that we are unable to take you in. Our docking mechanism doesn't allow for it. We hope you will comply by moving your ship back out, they might be able to help you planet side." <

Other than that, no prob' bob.

Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

Which seems wrong tongue

Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

Actually, I think I indicated every log entry with _ while leaving the time between them ambiguous(I had to google the spelling)

Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

another addition: I have the general plot lined up for the next 3-4 post which will be woven into what Fokker gave me. But I'm having difficulty trying to process this into the format.

This might be the hardest thing I've ever written.

Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

The end bit is explained by how the recording device works.

edit: and why this is not explained in the story is also explained. Which will also not be mentioned.

Currently trying to flesh out the ship as much as needed.

Re: It's a Funny Old World: O.O.C.

This is taking a lot longer then I thought. Currently I can't think of a great system for levels(if there are any) and how the ship connects compartments. I have figured out how some of the systems work and how they actually kinda make sense in scifi.
