if we're listing wishes, i say 0!
i thought you would wish the best for them, they have kicked the US's ass.
That was probably the only time in history that Deci was rooting for America... ![]()

He sure seems to want to keep pumping out those Tax Offices tho!
omg! he's a pop banker! estorm him!
Ok, this is a reasonable thing to get worried about. However, after a long period of indecision and turmoil, i think ive finally found the ultimate solution
do nothing
seriously people. many of you may say, "oh yeah like that would work, what about taking care of it now instead of down the line when its much worse?!"
Think of the human race as a single entity with an obvious set amount of room to grow. Yes, populations are steadily increasing, but a number of things can take care of that (and already do).
1. Natural disasters
2. Disease
3. War (especially world wars)
4. Starvation due to food shortages
5. Lack of expansion (think of density-dependent cells in the human body)
We can get worried now, and take drastic measures such as sterilents in drinking water, or restricting offspring count, but if that doesnt scream "just plain wrong', then what will? I think humanity largely underestimates the power of the ecosystem and the cycle of life. I guarentee that sooner or later we'll reach some form of a population cap or a massive event can decrease it.
That is why i dont understand exactly why this is a pressing issue at all.
if the US was an Imperial race, i think we would be wardancer race.
rubbish and only used by n00bs?
slightly unnecessary and unrelated
The US is not a bunch of nOObs, we just vote for them. And only seniors pay attention to local polls.
This means that the record amount of voter turnout from the presidential election is not present in local elections, since the seniors make up a majority of the votes, we lose budgets in schools and cultural events because the seniors are all on fixed budgets and vote to avoid property tax increases. our population means nothing if the working generations dont act.
we are doomed. ![]()
Condoms? I make love to my woman, not a piece of rubber!
personally i dont think condoms are meant to control mass population, condom were invented for personal securiuty from disease and unintentional pregnancy(especially among teen girls) i am divorced now, so i practice use of condoms for my self security.
it is a fact that most people that use condoms are not avoiding possable pregnancy, research was done at University at Buffalo that provides evidence that people practice safe sex to avoid HIV and Hep C. Surveys done at Boston University also correlate the eveidence.
Fact: if someone was to have sex and was not worried about HIV or Hep C they would probably not were a condom and just "pull out" at climax and "hope" none of his little droids got past the Female defense station.
Double Fact: also proven that pulling out early can still get a woman pregnant.
Pulling out early doesn't get women pregnant. Putting in does!
bwhahahahahahahahaha that's deep man
It wouldn't be as deep if a smaller man said it!!!!
So, how about that topic? Anyone else want to comment in a completely on-topic way?
Or would you rather continue to go out of your way to prove Flint and B_W right?
Here, try this:
How do we fix this, China style population control?
i suggest we keep everything the way it is. we are only homosapiens, we do not have any right to control the rights to future life anymore than we have to take from the current...
In my mind the problem is self correcting. If we only have x amount of room that can only support y amount of people then there is no problem with population growth. In the end we'll either A) work out ways to produce more of what we need and space to accomodate the population or B) We'll overgrow the planets support capacity and begin to starve. Starvation will weaken us making us more susceptible to disease and we will begin to die in exceptionally large numbers. This means we'll have fewer people to support and problem solved. Either way it's not really our concern.
As has been stated above, DPS is probably correct: Industrialized nations are showing that nations can increase production without raising population growth rates.
And hey, there's always space travel. ![]()
we are never gna get anywhere in space
we suck majorly ![]()
And I have to agree with DPS it's natural selection. The strong will survive. Why are we trying to save all the weaklings?
Who said anything about saving the weak? Seriously, has anyone in this thread actually suggested that?
"A) work out ways to produce more of what we need..."
Problem: Already done that; nobody will touch it because it is genetically-modified.
"and space to accomodate the population"
Problem: The types of buildings we would need to construct in order to do this without further damaging the world are tall, generally considered to be ugly, and are protested against by every Green Party member like they are radioactive.
"B) We'll overgrow the planets support capacity and begin to starve."
Or the stress will break our collective psychology and we'll dop something lemming-ish, like turn on ourselves.
we need more planets. ![]()
