I don't believe in God, and I think there are many good reasons for not doing so. However, I think it is common knowledge that bad things happen to good people, while good things happen to bad people, listing any such instance is a bit pointless because everybody knows it is true. If it was not true, then everybody would know that God existed. Now, I firmly believe God does not exist, or at least not the way that Christians believe, but I was raised a Catholic and I know that the whole point in faith in God is that it is without proof or need of proof. So if no bad things happened to worshippers while no good things happened to Godless people then surely that would defeat the object of faith, being a strong evidence for God. You also have to remember that God as the Christian faith would have him/her/it is a much greater being than you or me and it would be a bit silly of us to try to fathom his mind.
A main problem I have with Christianity is the number of references to humility and the need to be humble. It just always seemed a bit silly listening to those lines while sat in a big ass intricatly masoned church while supposedly worshipping God. I know I said we shouldn't try to fathom the mind of God, but it seems totally ridiculous to preach humility while demanding to be worshipped. I wouldn't especially mind worshipping a God who created heaven and Earth, because I reckon that's a pretty cool thing to do and I'd like to pass on my kudos, but asking to be worshipped just makes God an arse hole. I'd rather give him a two fingered salute and tell him to get over himself.
