Re: Virgo

not a better decision could have been made, virgo was responsible of making 99% of the players that started the game to quit!

Re: Virgo

didnt we have one before artic? not sure if it would make a massive difference whilst the game is on deaths door, but u never know

Re: Virgo

yeah but how is coming straight into the game and getting utterly owned going to make people stay?

Re: Virgo

Exactly... for such a simple game (it is simple in principle), the strategy is amazingly complicated and a noob will just give up wondering what more they can do.

Don't try bringing it back! Some people will destroy you if you try

Virgo wasn't introduced until IC was already massive. Before that everyone started just like they will now (I did and I stayed tongue )

I'm glad they closed Virgo. After spending so long tutoring and seeing the turnover ratio (It was very low. If you've never tutored then you have no idea how low it really was) this cant hurt IC.

Someone mentioned the vote thing to draw people in. We've done that a couple of times in the past and you'd see an influx in joins for Virgo but many of them would never go on to the main galaxies. At least now they will have a chance to interact with people in the main gal before going inactive

Re: Virgo

wow this is fail, i left about 2 weeks before virgo came online, and i came back, and about a month latter virgo closes

Re: Virgo

Eh, no one mentions the mentor program.

I think a strong mentor program/system, would solve everything.

Pair every new player with an experienced player who is willing to teach.

Virgo was dicey at best. It all depended on the tutor you got. I had one, who said, "just get your 10 planets and get out" or something similar.
We all came outa there trained to be SS, and had to be retrained by our new fams to play fam and team.  The closest Virgo ever came to team play, was when someone about to graduate dumped his leftovers on another player. (lol, I did that. When I had an explo out for my last planet, I dumped food and cash and res on the lowest ranked player I found). I did not learn to atk, or to play fam or team. I learned to explo and SS.

And, yes, a mentor system would depend on whom you got for a mentor. We all have our own style of play and focus, and attitudes and ideas. The new player would be affected by that. I mean, can you imagine a bucha little Hummy clones,? And we play and play, and eventully all end up in the same fam and...... (Gawd, I gotta quite daydreaming, I got a really huge erection......................Now, who do I use it on? lol)

75% of all players in IC have hemorroids,

the other 25% are perfect assholes.
