Topic: Cuba and US Relations
I think its crazy that a topic like this does not all ready exsist. I find it kind of mad how the US can allow Communism on there own doorstep. Many mistakes have been made in the past by the US and Cuba but seriously for the good of the people is it not best the mistakes be put behind both countries. I just find it crazy how the US would send troops to Vietnam to stamp out Communism but will allow it to rear its ugly head and peer into their homes. Helms-Burton Act that is what drew my attention to this subject.. I mean how pathetic is that i mean by the US if they support Democracy then instead of maybe putting sancations onto a country is the wrong way to persuade it to change. Instead coming to the table and actually attemping serious negoations they increase the tension.Relations deteriorated even futher following the election of George W Bush, the Bush administration started expanding travel restrictions. Not a very well thought out move by the US goverment they took a very hostile stance which basically gives Cuba the excuse of "were not meeting unless it is on equal terms" the same excuse Iran uses.
