In June 2002, President Bush issued America's Homeownership Challenge to the real estate and mortgage finance industries to encourage them to join the effort to close the gap that exists between the homeownership rates of minorities and non-minorities.     * American Dream Downpayment Initiative, which provides down payment assistance to approximately 40,000 low-income families;
    * Affordable Housing. The President has proposed the Single-Family Affordable Housing Tax Credit, which would increase the supply of affordable homes;
    * Helping Families Help Themselves. The President has proposed increasing support for the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunities Program; and
    * Simplifying Homebuying and Increasing Education. The President and HUD want to empower homebuyers by simplifying the home buying process so consumers can better understand and benefit from cost savings. The President also wants to expand financial education efforts so that families can understand what they need to do to become homeowners.

fact, the republicans helped write NAFTA, and Clinton thought in spirit it was a good idea, but the republicans (big business) knew exactly what they were going to do with it.... it originally stated that big business could outsource a certain amount of the work for products and not face tariffs.... but in the righting of it allowed them to move the whole of their manufacturing and customer service as well... and the rep's took advantage of that.
second bush has spent 25 times  what any 5 presidents have ever spent in office.... and i guess your going to say we had too... well wrong, it is no secret that our government knew about the attacks, the israeli intelligence was in a hotel filming it as it happened, showing that they knew, and Cheney wanted his natural gas pipeline for haliburton through afghanistan, and bush wanted  vengeance for his daddy's assaination attempt.

our government did it at Pearl harbor to get in the war, they did it with a ship off the coast to start with Korea, and did it by assassinating a diplomat for Vietnam.

i know for a fact about bush... pearl harbor was on history Chanel and A&E, Korea.... we put the ship there, but we knew what would happen it is common knowledge... and the diplomat was actually trying to keep us out of Vietnam.
the only thing that you could question is what i said about bush... but as i said i worked for the DOD, and had a conversation with Atta on line, and met him at a well known restaurant in Sarasota. and then promptly alerted who i was supposed to, I contacted the air force, the CIA, and the state dept..... but not a damn thing was done about it.

no it was when they took soul... i got confused it was Vietnam that had the spy ship that got attacked and then we sent military ad visors, the war in Korea was started when the armistice was broken.

someone up there said that it was stupid to boil this down to a "well this 1 party did it" issue, and i fully agree.  republicans are responsible, democrats are responsible, people spending outside their means are responsible.  its not just one person's or one party's fault, and its extraordinarily stupid to boil it down to that.  greed and stupidity caused this whole mess, and those two forces know no party lines.
