whats the reasoning behind that?

"why the heck would he give the money to ME if socialized healthcare would be abolished?"

well, if employers are paying too much, why wouldnt he lower your income right now?

"yeah right avo.. in real it was a beer with coffee flavour;)"

ah, ok. one more quick question. whats healthier for babies, baby beer formula or getting their beer from mom?

East,

I'm talking about that class of people who always have to engage in community activities, donate plasma, and work for the peace corps etc. Nothing wrong if they choose to do that, I just don't like their attitude.

historical reasons. when social healthcare was invented in germany it was thought as a gift from the economy to the people (the 50% you employer pays). it was not ment to share money between the rich and poor. back in that time 95% of the spendings of the insurance companies had been for ill workers (if you are ill longer then 6 weeks your employer can stop salaray payments for you and insurance will start paying it). back then they decided that no worker would cost the insurance more then x ammount of money. so they made this border which is recalibrated each year.
i do not know why we still use it. for me it would make sense to remove it.

"well, if employers are paying too much, why wouldnt he lower your income right now? "

because he can

>>Would it surprise you to know that in the UK the "best of the best" is available to all, even unemployable me? <<

Yeah it would. Since it's not true. You don't have the "best of the best." If your best is available to all, your best isn't very good.

>>people here complain that work is too expensive for employers.. if it is.. why the heck would he give the money to ME if socialized healthcare would be abolished?<<

Why does he pay you as much as he does? The point is, the more you take to waste on inefficient, substandard services, the less he has to work with, the less you have to work with, the poorer your healthcare.

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

no, if nationalized healthcare would be abolished, he weould have to pay less. if he simply wants to say me less as you said, he needs to prrove he cant afford paying my old salary anymore.

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

but not paying his half of the healthcare is paying you less...

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

Apparently in his country they're not that good at math, avogadro.

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

but he can not do that.
also it is officially not a part of your salary.

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

Schniep.

No one guarantees nothing.
Who guarantees you that you use EXACTLY what you give to the system ?

I can say this, that the market will balance any company's employer based expenses.

follow ?

Yes...rofl.....my wife and I are in a system, just like yours.
Its called GHI (Govt. Health Insurance.)
We choose among any Doctor/faciltiy that accepts GHI, ...that happens to be quite a few.

The State program ALSO has many "groups" Like GHI, .... like your different groups to choose from.

Come .......joust w/the master.

If you take out less it means ur helping other people, if you take more it means u probably need it

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

BW

this system is not made to get me what i payed in.
no one will guarantee me.
I do not pay MY PERSONAL health insurance i pay SOCIAL HEALTH INSURANCE.
means.. the money i pay is not for me.. its for those needing it right now..
when i get ill.. it does not get payed by the money i payed in.. it is payed by the community.
This is not about getting back what you payed in.
the system lives of some paying less then they will get back and some using more then they payed in.

Oh and about the salary. The part you employer part is not officially a part of your salary.
your salary is the basis of what he has to pay in addition. so basically.. if he would not have to pay my insurance to 50% anymore.. it would be his money he is saving. not mine.
it is not a part of my salary.

wouldnt all that would need to happen would be the law that gets rid of the healthcare also changes the employer part to be part of your salary?

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

i dont get what you mean avo.
if we would make a law that would get rid of social healthcare, there would be no part to pay for my employer.
i dont think politicians here can make laws that "order" employers to raise salaries of workers so easily.

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

Lol, how can people be interested in math when all the teachers do from first grade is give you formulas, and never explain anything about "why?" If you want to learn math, you pretty much have to do it on your own.

where is that???

CA teachers are paid quite well...

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

The average wage of a teacher is $42,000. Most entry level teachers make at least $36,000. You call that underpaid, wtf? Considering they only work 9/12 months, have great job security and tenure, work 6 hours a day (sports and take home work doesn't count), and have goodies like free health care, that's good!

Pizza boys don't even make half that.

The problem is teachers think they should be paid like professionals, and that's bs.

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

NY (not the city), teachers dont get paid that well, but the problem extends to many other state.  you're right, CA isnt so bad, that much is true.  i dont know where the 36k starting came from but that is certainly not the case based on what i know.  health care and vacation is quite awesome but i still think they deserve more.  The United States has the highest rate (among 1st world countries) of kids dropping out of high school.  If we want an educated workforce, we dont want to undercut teachers so that all we get is the bottom of the barrel.  All good things start with education, without it a country is nothing.

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

This source is from the government, and it gives a little different figure for entry level wages for teachers, about $32,000. Here are some facts about teacher earnings.

"Median annual earnings of kindergarten, elementary, middle, and secondary school teachers ranged from $43,580 to $48,690 in May 2006; the lowest 10 percent earned $28,590 to $33,070; the top 10 percent earned $67,490 to $76,100. Median earnings for preschool teachers were $22,680.

why doesnt take home work count?

and kids are dropping out of highschool because of bad parents, not bad teachers.

Re: The Eve of Euro-Socialism is upon America

teachers have shitloads to do at home.
