Centuries? the combustion engine only has been around since the 1870s..

[flaming] not just oil.
Anything.....
ROFL.

The stock market is just about kapital. It will not be for a while before the economy goes into a dip because the companies cant reinvest.
That massive drop in oil price simply prooves one thing.. a big bunch of the oil price was due to speculations.. not for the value of oil... but made up of people who wanted to make profit from it. and we see such in any area.. oil.. food.. currencies. and thats what needs to stop. you have a lil few people making profit on the cost of many many other people. thus has to be regulated or even better stopped.. there are just some goods like food and energy which are too essential for everyone to let it be playballs of investors.
about russia bw.
I do not remember now when russia betrayed germany.. it allways was the other way round so i dont see why we should not buy our oil from them.
Europeans are not as russiaphobe as many americans appear to be. relations developed nicely.
I do not agree with all of russias actions though.. but as 420 said before... it does not matter what my supplier does as long as he supplies me the demanded quantity for a good price.. i guess thats the free market you love so much BW... Issues like my supplier is an ass.. do simply not matter.. not to me.. not to you... if we follow the market.
@ Schneip
A biggest part of the price in oil, is Supply/Demand.
The next biggest ? The value of the US Dollar.
Next..... and a small part is speculation.
To follow up, Im wondering..... since the price of oil is falling, should we thank the oil companies now ?
On Russian/German trade.....its all good. Im only joking.
As to "Relations" with Russia......ROFL..... Schniep, how quickly history is forgotton.
Your fellow Germans in the Fulda Gap, near the Chezch/E. German Border were not so found of the USSR when I was in Germany....not so many years ago.
Please..........
One more time......relax, it was a joke on Relations w/Russia
I was about to add something about letting old cold war. you can not speak of "relations" to former soviet states due to several reasons.
and sorry BW.. if you say they were not so found of the USSR and in the same sentence "not so many years ago" i need to wonder.
at least for me 18 years are quiet a long time where LOTS of things can change.
"That massive drop in oil price simply prooves one thing.. a big bunch of the oil price was due to speculations.. "
how does it do that? i would think the massive drop in oil price was simply because demand dropped because the economy plunged.
yet not so much economy went down here.
i see no factories closed.. i dont see less cars driving.
I dont see refineries being closed.
for sure we are on the way to a recition.
but a 50% reduction in oil price?
i do not think so.
"yet not so much economy went down here."
here? oil prices are from world wide demand....

Exactly, never did the russians invade Europe, apart from WWII, on the allies request. The European nations on the other hand invaded Russia several times.
"As to "Relations" with Russia......ROFL..... Schniep, how quickly history is forgotton."
That counts for every nation, BW. Afghanistan for example. Or Iran. If Europe didn't change its relations, we would still be in a conflictuous situation, and we wouldn't have learned a single thing from millions of deads and 2 world wars.
As for the German - Russian economic link, it must have had little historical meaning. Germany was always able to find it's primal natural resources within its own boundaries. Russia never really develloped a strong exporting economy (at least not in goods that really mattered to a foreign economy) until the last few decades.
asia for example was way better off.. economy still growing.. its getting lil worse within the last few days but when the big loss in oil price came everyone kept saying that asia is hoped to be the new engine of economic growth. so.. demand there seems not to have fallen too much.
with here.. i mean europe..
i dont know about the US.
do you see factories standing still?
do you see a big ammount of cars less then usual?
that would be the big 3 oil importers i would guess.
In all 3 of them so far i do not see a that huge hit for the economy that would justify a 50% loss in oil price.. only by less demand.
anyways.. to really know it we will need to see import stats of the last and next month.. we will know then instead of speculating about it.
ok.. i found some numbers.
due to financial crisis.. OECD expects the demand of oil to be reduced by 2.2% this year while in africa, mid east and east asia demand will still be going up.
so the fact that it has dipped shows that its not based of speculation like the OECD's that says it will be reduced by 2.2% (in europe, im assuming) and raising in africa, middle east, and asia. i gotta head to work, ttyl.
its for OECD countries wich are the 30 leading industrial nations...
and how does it proove that?
maybe i am too stupid to udnerstand..
can you explain please?
if the speculation shows a increase in demand, prices would rise... not fall...
Dollar value..... Oil is traded in dollars.
Euro Watch : 1.26
Man o man....this is not good.
its back to 1,30 now though...
and i still wonder whats not so good about it.
in times of economical crisis we europeans should be pretty happy with a not so high euro.
BW, a falling euro is good in this stage as it was overpriced wich resulted in a serious reduced export..
I just hope prices won't go up as a result..
@ americans: back when the dollar dropped so much, did that result in more cost of products in the stores?
the last time Germany got 30% of its oil from russia, patriotic Germans figured out how to get 100% of Germany's oil needs from inside Germany
it was called Operation Barbarossa
right yell.. now please wake up and start living in the present...
germany today really has nothing in commong with nazi germany...
and if only thing you can do is refer to some historical events regarding nazis..i would ask you please to not answer to my posts anymore.
thanks.
lighten up Schniepel, it was only a joke.. But I can understand that the matter is very sensitive..
Oh Brother...
Schneip, you should have answered It was the Soviet Union, and those Godless Communists deserved what they got.
