Justininian.....
From my personal experience......
In life, people question a higher being....usually young fairly well educated individuals.....
They question many things, not just religion.
Family/Parents authority, govt., Local influences....even friends....especially religion.
The US Military does have an embrace on Judeo/Christian beliefs....predominatly.....but not exclusively. I want to be clear on this.
The "Chaplain" is educated in all religions, and will do his best to be informed on a religion someone may need council with.
They are NOT exclusively One religion or the other.....but, will defer to another Chaplain who happens to be better versed.
With that said.....
During Desert Shield, and the build up to the First Gulf.....I saw MANY many people all of a sudden "get Religion."
All of a sudden, the chapel was full, and many were embracing one "Faith" or another.
No one is forced to believe, mocked if they dint, or laughed at if they do believe in one faith or another.
When death is around the corner......you find many who come to religion for solace.
Come .......joust w/the master.
I'm always Right. You are just intellectually Left.....behind.
Individual patriot, and a REAGAN Conservative.
