Zidi u almost scare me sometimes. Every post ive seen of u in the past 2 yrs is like tearing my mind out and putting it in u:) so i agree with u like 99.9999% of the time or u agree with me 99.99999% of the time:)
Im really disapointed with this reshuffle. With days left we were told there wouldnt be 1 and now not only are we told there will be 1 after just 1 round, but now people want 15-20 peeps per fam back. usually when something is being successful u stick with it. I would agree 100% to going with 15 player fams if we had double the players we have atm in ic.
I played during a time when there were 100 fams per gal and when the merger happened we had 200 or something like that in andro, it might of been 150, but I remmeber my allies being ranked 119th when they got hit and they were no wheres near the bottom+ they had 16 players somewhat active! I also watched ic fall from that high down to 20 fams per gal. I was in so many super fams with 18-20 player fams as well as seeing alot of other super fams. These super fams meant alot of unequal playing field starting off from the get go and alot of raping on smaller fams. Evan with 15 player fams we had the best start we ever had and anyone had in ic in andro. Double the nw of the 2nd ranked fam atfre 10 days! double the nw of the top fam in mw after 10 days when rounds started sametime, we had 13 players out of 15.
I spent yrs trying to get the mods to reduce alliances,fam sizes,round leght and increase starting gc/resources for what i thought was not good for me, but good for ic. I dont see an overall complaint about it other then older players wanting 20 player fams again or the middle generation wanting less fams because they know ic with 20 fams per gal.
The fun we had with 100+ fams!! U dident have to worry about just 1-2 fams, u had to worry about all of them, all were unknown variables in the gal.. 50 fa m gal this round u had so many peeps playing and so many fams. We started off very inactive, joe missed the 1st 2 weeks, we had 5 people start off, i missed the 1st 5 days and mainly evo and kagar were active early on and we still survived and still had fun+ plenty of all differant kind of size fams to deal with good or bad+ we had no ally!. I lost maybe 150 planets this round if not more and up till last week i was still maken 3m a tick counting resources. For a fam ranked 25th or so that was plenty good and I would play in a small fam like this any round! If not for the #1 fam really hurting us I think we been able to save up and do a jump to really hurt another top fam, we managed to fend 1083 off when they were #1 and we managed to beat 1102 when they were #4 as well as hold our own with 55 when they were a dominating #1 and we never had to worry about competeting for #1 nor did we worry about sitting on 15 planets and being so small.
People were upset the top fams dident do much this round, well thats the way ic is now, every round is differant, but poeple are mostly inactive, so u wont see all kinds of great competetion anymore as the old days till we get alot of new players in over time.
The only thing u needed to change was reduce the systems by 10-20% without a reshuffle. I thought it was good to explore longer then usual as long as the systems are filled with 2 weeks to go, as it is now were still exploring lol.
So here we are, after alot of recent success nolio decides he wants more people per fam and less fams per gal, so rigs the voting? ALot of people dont realize or care whats good for ic mods! alot of people just care whats good for them at the current time and not whats good for ic!
Joe/orbit wanted 20 players per fam and 20 fams also, after a while of explaining to him why that be fun for 1 round and bad overall he came around big time. He wanted this because he grew up with it and knew nothing else.
Trust me when i say this, this makes no sense! A few peopel convinced the mods as well as nolio convincing the others that this was needed. I mean just last month u had to open another gal for the left over players, but now your reshuffling capri so u can have less fams? more players per fam is always bad.
I played for 7 yrs straight or so and trained more people then anyone and thats a fact. U cant get to know 20 people in your fam personally or train them as good as u can and should with 12 players. How many of u have done full fam starting strats with 20 players? I did it for yrs straight and its a huge strain and it sucks!
