Topic: Socialist America finally!

After all these years the time has come to welcome the USA in the group of modern "socialist" states.  after the socialisation of so many financial instituts and the waste of billions of hard earned tax payers money, the USA has finally turned (under a republican administration!!!!!) to socialism.  THIS is one of the funniest moments in history!  big_smile how we (continental) europeans were blamed for being socialists and worse in this forum!  From now on the USA is one of us!  The final act of the Bush administration is the betrayel of their own convictions.  Free market?  forget it! Welcome the real BIG government instead!
next step: fraternization with cuba and venezuela under Obama or the socialisation (regulation) of the automobile industry under McCain smile

I suppose it be breakin me fmod oath t' edit some seadog lingo into yer posts.., we'll keel-haul ye, yo ho, ho

Our government is bein' dumbassed, it is better that we have a recession than another boom where billionaires expect a govt bailout.  You realice th' way t' safeguard yer company's risky splurge an' guarantee a bailout is t' start proppin' up other companies' splurgin'?  The sharks will eat well tonight! Thats why AIG got a bailout.

In 10 years it will happen again an' cost more.  It's already got Europe pumpin' $180 billion into th' markets, shiver me timbers But governments dont have enough t' guarantee everybody, an' when th' takeovers come th' stockholder gets paid last.  What do ye think that does fer th' market?

Re: Socialist America finally!

th' govt has however much dubloons they want t' print but fer yer information we be not socialist.  far from it.  an' th' ones callin' europeans socialist shut up ye redneck.  america has an' is about 25 years behind europe in social an' moral behavior.  an' under this republican system bailin' out th' corps ye be forgettin' th' ones losin' thar jobs from this.  fer every dollar th' govt gives them they be savin' 10 by firin' an employee.  by firin' an employee th' employee hass less dubloons.  doesn't buy th' new plasma tv, sony lays off more scallywags, more scallywags quit buyin' sony tvs, more scallywags be laid off, republican govt bails out sony which is now based in singapore.

Re: Socialist America finally!

There's nothin' morally superior about payin' scallywags not t' work.   Nothin'.

This is asinine, now we're gonna throw dubloons at banks an' promise t' back dubloons market accounts...hell why dern't we just guarantee every American $100,000 a year an' a 10% increase in home equity while we're at it!

You see th' stock market boom this week?   You think they borrowed that dubloons in two days?   They had th' dubloons all th' time, an' where thar's capital t' invest thar's recovery.

Bush said this mornin' we'd have lost jobs an' lost dubloons market revenue an' lost economic growth an' we can't have that.   Oh really?  We can't have two months o' recession?   That's worth $1 trillion we dern't have t' avoid?

All this does is tell Wall Street an' th' financials t' go fer broke.   Uncle Sucker will pick up th' tab.   There is no risk anymore, th' federal government will pay into bankruptcy t' avoid recession.   Recession is normal an' healthy, it would have solved th' problem o' overcentralization in th' financial markets, ye scurvey dog.   Now we got crap.   Fannie Mae an' Freddie Mac will continue t' own 50% o' mortgage debt, AIG is still insurin' bad debt an' now we just added 50% t' th' federal budget....arrrrrgghhhh

We be screwed.   We be gonna end up with a recession AND a dollar nobody wants.  Walk the plank, by Davy Jones' locker!   You ass, Bush, ye bet th' lady an' minnows on a pair o' nines.

Re: Socialist America finally!

I like what ye ahd t' say an' i agree.  But would ye rather th' banks lose everythin'?Remember that our govt is tied up in all aspects o' th' financial world.

Re: Socialist America finally!

We have a thin' called a Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  Yaaarrrrr!   The company stops doin' business an' cant be sued or seized.   A special federal court appoints an expert trustee t' take o'er th' company.   This trustee does an audit an' accounts t' th' court fer how he runs th' business.   Debts be paid fairly an' th' assets o' th' company be distributed t' pay debts.   Creditors be divided betwixt secured an' unsecured--did ye loan dubloons against equipment or did ye just have a bill, Hornswaggle  If th' creditors or shareholders object they can go right into court an' be heard within weeks.   Many companies SURVIVE chapter 11, it is a reorg bankruptcy an' very fair.

Instead stupid companies includin' banks be given gifts o' cash.   They may or may not have learned a lesson, by Davy Jones' locker.   They may or may not become solvent an' responsible.   The government may or may not be repaid.   Sharehodlers may or may not be ruined.   Dumb, by Blackbeard's sword!  Dumb!  Ahoy! If I were a stockholder I'd sue th' governments ass off.

We had alternatives an' th' capital is out thar.   "Loss of Confidence in the markets" is just th' refusal t' take advantage o' opportunites an' ye dern't get millions o' pieces of eight by avoidin' opportunities, I'll warrant ye.   30-90 days into th' recession global dubloons is goin' t' start takin' opportunities that failed banks would have snatched up.  Walk the plank!  Even better, it would be dozens o' investors an' lenders instead o' a few big firms.

Our government has t' consider th' long-term interests o' th' USA instead o' profits in th' immediate future.   Our dollar has t' be solvent, Ya horn swogglin' scurvy cur!  If we have a recession an' th' dollar fails at th' same time, then we're in a Third World economy.
