Re: why i will not vote liberal

Hi Jesus!
How's it going?

Now on to the thread topic:

A liberal controlled government would NOT be a bad thing IF the extreme leftists weren't allowed any power/influence! big_smile

Re: why i will not vote liberal

imo a Liberal Government wont be bad if they merely are denied the right to determine how much cash funds specific things.

Remove their ability to fund items and they actually become pretty respectable with their idea's.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)

Limit the republicinas ability to spend billions on the miltary and curb their desire to invade random countries and they become a respectable government...

Re: why i will not vote liberal

Confused... is this a Canadian election thread, or American? Sloth's original post was a bit confusing on that point :S

If this is a Canadian election thread, I'll only say this in response to the original post. If you, as a low income earning student don't think you deserve federal benefits, then you are very stubborn. How are you suppossed to finish post \secondary and have a chance at a future as a middle to high income learner if you don't have support along the way. Canada needs to build an educated, and well informed workforce, which is currently suffering a huge brain drain, which is patched up by importing foreign workers with lower qualifications.

As for the carbin tax? If it will be offset in reduced income tax as the Dion is claiming, then it will be a huge benefit in the next few years when alternate fuel cars become available to the consumer en masse.

While I personally don't think Dion can lead the country, I will be voting Liberal, simply because I fear Harper with a majority government. Even with a minority he has been able to put serious tarnish on Canada's Rep. Which, lets face it, it'sthe most important asset we have when it comes to foreign diplomacy.

Re: why i will not vote liberal

Of course it's about the American election. No one cares about Canada. The US election is so big it will decide the fate of the world, but in Canada it won't matter. That and Sloth is an American and says so in this thread.

Re: why i will not vote liberal

Wow, well, everything depends on its own implementations in a specific environment.

But to get to the main topic - I think that if *TAXES* were called *Education-investment option* then a few people would be quite happy to pay them.

Education - in general (not all cases) - is usually good for a community. Thus, the rich people invest in the community so that it remains highly competative. So, taxes spent on education = investment oppurtunity, much like in a mutual fund.
Now, how good of an investment oppurtunity is it really? I think it is good: but I dont have a numerical value to attach to it.

Re: why i will not vote liberal

Well, then again - concerning the US mostly - the part of the taxes spent exclusively on education is not a big fraction of the total taxes&govt. expenses. Anyone have a reference for it?
