Yes, well The fast paced part was partially intentional, partially an accident.
I wanted to keep descriptions and detail to a minimum cause I didn't think it would this kind of story much justice.
Another factor is that every chapter is the other character, so some chapters are really short when I keep switching perspective. That really makes it all seem like it's uber-fast

The building was empty. Literally empty, as there was nothing to find, except the things that were too heavy to lift and a few tables and chairs. The Americans had taken the attack on Geran Bridge seriously and retreated as the European forces advanced. Of course, as soon as Kriegadler had taken control of the bridge, the other platoons that were waiting all rushed forward to attack the Americans that were based in the Geran area. But unfortunately for the bloodthirsty amongst them, the Americans retreated, by order of the headquarters no doubt. And now they were stuck here for days.

Some of the soldiers were sitting in the largest room which was most likely the recreational abode inbetween battles.
