I am allowed to express my extreme disgust at this. It's disgusting and you should be very very ashamed.

We all are. Ever heard about a Gauss-curve? If not, the link is at the bottom of this post. Biologists and psychologists quite agree that it's applicable on sexuality as well. On one end you have a very small group of extreme heterosexuals and on the other end a small group of extreme homosexuals, but most of us are right in the middle of it..
Figures don't say anything, on their own. Did you know that more people drown when more icecream is sold? There's a strong correlation between those two, but one is not the cause of the other (in fact it's because it's summer then).
Besides, you love god, isn't that a bit homosexual too? (To be exact, there is a psychological study going on about that
)

Cool, I was right about somthing ![]()
"I love you for your previous post CT"
Lol, thanks Springy and Mishe.. Now, if only I could be that quick witted all the time ![]()
Muncher, thanks for the link. Now that I've looked at it, I think I remember something like it in high school math. But i wonder if it can really be used to accurately describe aspects of society?
and to be clear: I am not actually gay ![]()
That's what they all say.
Gauss curves can't be used to describe sexual orientation. The Gauss curve doesn't even have room for asexuals.
However, orientation is not discrete. It is a continuum, but not one a Gauss curve can describe.
Besides, the Gauss curve looks nothing like the human distribution ![]()
Here in Canada (or maybe it was an American study), 7.7% of men had at one point desired a same-sex encounter, 5.3% had actually engaged in one and 2.8% of men identified themselves as homosexual. The numbers were 7.5%, 3.5% and 1.4% (lesbian) for women.
In addition, there are very few bisexuals. You'd almost thing it would make sense that there would be more bisexuals than homosexuals or lesbians...but there aren't. ![]()
more men actually engaged in homosexual activities than women ![]()
and Primo that editing of proton's post me made laugh
thank you ![]()
Oh yeah...man on man action is like twice as common as woman on woman action ![]()
Another fun statistic is this:
Disapproval rates of sexual affairs:
79% of Men, 84% of Women, 35% of Gay Men
Disapproval rates of love affairs:
87% of Men, 93% of Women, 76% of Gay Men
That increase for gay men is quite remarkable. Or maybe it's the very low value for gay men with regards to sexual affairs that is remarkable. Either way...it's remarkable
I guess the moral of the story is, if you want to be promiscuous and don't want your partner to leave you....you might want to try your hand at being at gay male.
For anyone who was wondering, the difference between a sexual affair and a love affair is with regards to the emotional connection. If there is sex and there is an emotional connection, it gets quantified as a love affair. Sex without a connection is a sexual affair (an emotional connection without sex is an emotional affair and no emotional connection and no sex is faithful).
Other fun tidbits:
Woman are just as aroused as men by romantic erotica.
Women aren't as aware of their arousal as men.
When women are hooked up to a bogus lie detector, women claim to have more sexual partners than men. When they're not hooked up...the give lower numbers.
Proportionally, men refuse offers of sex in established relationships just as often as women do.
Because of gender stereotypes, men often have sex with their partners even when they don't want to.
Oh and an 80 year old woman's capacity for arousal is the same as when she was 30. So if any of you think your grandparents don't want it....they do
The reason older people tend to stop having sex is usually because of the man and his concerns about his ability to perform. Silly men. It's perfectly natural to have dysfuction as they get older....alot of women like that anyway...it means the men have to take things slower and spend more time on foreplay.
'and no emotional connect and no sex is faithful'
HaHa, i like that final addition
.
heh, CT - your point about babies aside, the answer is obvious no?
In a world with a house-wife role for a large percentage of women and a glass ceiling for many others in earnings comparisons, should it be any surprise that having two bread winners in a homosexual male relationship would cause a higher income? ![]()
Speaking of easy logic ![]()
@CT
Two more things! ![]()
1) Be careful of who you tell. There are still some people in this country who are violently opposed to homosexuality. So make sure you can trust the people you do end up telling not to run their mouths. If you're in the states (I assume you're not from your name), then honestly, tell no one. Americans are well not as approving as we are here up north...and even up here we have our problems.
Obviously, you should never tell your employers. Homosexuals still face some forms of discrimination (though it's illegal), one such being wage discrimination.
2) Not that I need to say this...but if anyone invites you to go to a teahouse, run! ![]()
You might also want to think about contacting a local group if you haven't already. They might be able to provide some form of support and offer advice.
LOL CT
you got more posts in here than the canadian thread ![]()
you wanna change the title??
or join us there? ![]()
BTW congratz on gathering the courage to come out ![]()
"it means the men have to take things slower and spend more time on foreplay."
which is in turn probably the main reason they dont have sex as much ![]()
Lol to Primo for his spiffy editing. But your not really gay
:o:o
"Oh and an 80 year old woman's capacity for arousal is the same as when she was 30."
-If there is one thing worse then thinking about our parents being sexuality active, it's thinking about our grandparents. *shudder*
Windows, your analysis would make sense, but as Theo points out, gay men often do discrimination at work. Whether it be lower wages, less benefits, or if it's something like being given the office with the leaky window or with a perfect view of a dog food plant.
And yes Theo, I am being very careful about who I tell. I'm not sure how many people here use facebook, but there is a group their dedicated to Lawrence King. I can't say that hearing about that, in California no less which is usually seen as a more modern and and liberal state, didn't scare me a little. For those of you who don't know who he was, there is a link here:

"You might also want to think about contacting a local group if you haven't already. They might be able to provide some form of support and offer advice."
-There is a group like that in my Uni. But I just haven't had the nerve to go up there yet. Theres always some I know will see me coming in or out of their office.
Lol Gladiator, I do go in the Canadian thread sometimes, but I usually end up killing the thread for a bit ![]()

I'm sure they have an e-mail address. You could probably find it if you run a search on your university website or it's probably posted around the campus somewhere.
