It's not just one person, it just seems like everyone is more concerned with intergalactic dick waving than creating an enjoyable, and believable, story.
Yes, pulling three million warships armed with guns that fire galaxies out of thin air in an effort to one-up the last posters two million ships armed with mass-drivers IS entertainsing if you are a writer, but as a reader?
See, part two was cool: The remains of empires from accross galaxy trapped on one planet having been stomped all over by an overwhelming force so large it ate galaxies for breakfast, their only chance? A daring assassination attempt that would cause the empire to collapse into disarray and infighting as everyone made a grab for the Emperor's throne. No longer a unified force the empire would then surely face the wrath of a thousand races grieving for a billion lost loved ones.
That had drama. That had tension. That was RP!
But this? In the two years since the end of the war everyone has rebuilt their homeworlds (most of which were decimated as they had been gigantic battlegrounds) and re built their colonies, thus establishing an interstellar infrastructure capable of supporting these empires AND the construction of MILLIONS of warships AND have enough babies to man these ships (which seem to need millions of people each)?
Does that sound like a galaxy that was on the brink of extintion just two years ago?
I tell you, Europe could have done with some help from these guys builders after world war two!
And what the smeg happened to the cloaking device? Why did that escape plan suddenly become a hyperdrive jump in an atmosphere? Not only do I not have a clue what's happening any more I don't think any of you do either!
And why exactly does the planet killer need a fleet of 2000000 to protect it? In fact, if you can make 2000000 ships why make a planet killer at all? I'm pretty sure 2000000 ships could easily deal with a planet.
Sorry but apart from the Logan's Son thing this RP is about as dramatic, tense and predictable as a wrestling match...
...
I think we should start again while we still can.
I don't mean to be an arsehole, but I think I made some good points.
"So, it's defeat for you, is it? Someday I must meet a similar fate..."
