come on man, first off, the guy doesnt shoot him and its the first time the guy has ever "missed" his mark.
2nd, for some mysterious reason they need the noob to get close to him
and then the kid knows nothing about his father
and then the guy shoots him in the arm telling him where to meet him when he obviously could of killed him instead
and then the guy is killing members of the fraternity left and right which the kid is a member of
and during the entire fight where the kid is trying to kill him, he was shooting all defensively and then saves his life.
and then the fraternity feels the need to kill the kid after he kills the guy.

even if you didnt know exactly what the twist was, you should of known something like the twist was coming.

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

just saw the dark knight. alittle disappointed with the joker, honestly, im not trying to be an asshole over the guy's death in real life, its probably just because i've heard it was supposed to be really good before seeing it so i was expecting an awesome performance and didnt get it.

there was action, drama, and comedy; a very solid plot, and good enough acting where you werent thinking about the acting, but. i was alittle annoyed by the numerous fake endings.

at the beginning the philosophy seemed to be very poorly done, but they redeemed themselves later on. and no, this is not something to get your hopes up over; its if you see the flaw in the philosophy they shove down your throat, you may not have to vomit after the movie if you dont leave before the end of the movie presumably to vomit.

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

I still think Heath Ledger did a great job with the joker and im not saying that just because the stupid guy killed himself.

Avo what philosophy did you have a problem with?

In matters of style, swim with the current;
In matters of principle, stand like a rock.

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

about 15 minutes into the movie, i get frustrated, knowing there won't be any Joker in any sequels.

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

there was alot of make-up, and i think they actually hired another actor to do some work after the Kieth ledger died, so i think its possible he will be in any sequel. i think that he wont be the main villain in any of the sequels though.

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

soth, i dont want to give away parts of the movie in a review page.

Hancock

"Will Smith is Hancock, a homeless alcoholic who just so happens to be....a superhero. Though not the traditional mask and cape protect the earth from evil forces superhero. He is the unshaven, shabby clothes, foul mouthed, destroy city property, hated superhero. Very few are grateful of his services and frankly Hancock could care less. Though he eventually decides to take up the offer to clean up his image and try to earn the love and appreciation of the public eye."

Hancock was a pretty good movie. I enjoyed the different approach to heroics that went into hancock and it was almost as good as I thought it would be. I wondered how they were going to form a nemesis for hancock when I saw the previews and surely they found a way. I'm not really too fond of the way that they added the twist but at least it was unpredictable. And they at least put some humor into it. Otherwise it was a good movie. I'm happy I saw it but will's been in better movies.

3.5 stars for hancock

Meet Dave

"Dave is a spaceship built in the form of a human being sent to earth to find a missing artifact. Dave is also the crew inside the head of...dave. Strange =p"

When I first saw the movie, I thought to myself, "this is stupid". Then I saw some of the trailers and thought, "Hmmm, I wanna see it. It looks pretty funny." Then I saw it and realized that they completely edited the movie to make the trailers connect to certain parts in order to make it funnier. They did a great job tricking me because meet dave was pretty stupid =p
I wish I didn't go see it at night because it was definitely not worth it. I mean, don't get me wrong, it wasn't a horrible movie to watch. But it was definitely meant to be a family movie and a family movie only. This is not a date movie. Not unless you're a huge eddie murphy fan. He's done well in his career and has produced some funny movies in the form of; "Daddy Day Care, Nutty Professor and Beverly Hills Cop." Very talented actor...he just seriously needs to get some better movie roles to complement his extraordinary talents sad

2 stars for Dave

Batman: The Dark Knight

"Batman returns in his darkest adventure yet with The Dark Knight. This time, crazed villain, Joker terrorizes Gotham city with the help of the mafia. The police force is all but useless, the mob cannot control the force that they've unleashed and Gotham City enters an age of terror and destruction. They have no one else to turn to except the Batman."

Ok, I am a huge batman fan. Next to spiderman, he's my favorite superhero. Though I've always felt that the batman movies were a bit cheesy but all in all, good fun. Anyhow, all of that aside, The Dark Knight was THE best movie that I've seen this summer. I mean, they seriously did Batman justice with this movie. Anybody who hasn't seen it, I urge you to go! It is 2 and a half hours long but every second is worth it, I swear to you it is. The Dark Knight has a very compelling story to it and the actors do an amazing job. Heath Ledger really brings the movie to life and delivers the true essence of The Joker as never before. I was truly blown away by how good the movie was. I will be truly upset if this movie doesn't top box office sales of this summer because I am not lying to you when I say it is the best. Not only did it not have a cliche ending, it really stayed true to the purpose of the story and left the audience for more each time. I'm going to go see this movie again today. it was just that good.

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

btw, don't take your kids to see this. The PG-13 warning should actually be taken seriously. While there isn't any suggestive sexuality or extreme language, the violence is pretty dark and for children, it could be a bit disturbing

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

i dont know, i think the joker didnt seem crazy in the movie, just evil. and that he is depicted as no less sane then batman, gordon, or dent. he also seemed too serious too often while the joker should be smiling almost all the time, not just because of the make-up; he seemed angry when he was going to kill people, while he should be happy.

i also think they needed to have created a better bond between dent and whats her name for what they did later in the movie and that the visit done by the joker wasnt necessary and probably detracted from Dent's character.

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

Nah avo, I saw an extremely crazy joker =p

Throughout the whole movie, he didn't do anything that made sense. He killed just to kill, he blew stuff up, just to blow it up. I won't say anymore about the movie though. I'll wait a while for other ppl to see it before I discuss it even furthur.

Oh but I agree with you about the dent situation. The bond wasn't quite strong enough to get the full effect of what happened and the joker thing was probably not neccesary. I mean, it made sense...but it would've probably been better if the didn't show up at all.

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

I have one question... The Dark Knight plays around the same time as the first Batman movie with the joker isn't?

Then please explain me... HOW THE HELL CAN IT BE THAT THE GADGETS BATMAN USES ARE WAY MORE ADVANCED THEN ANY OTHER BATMAN THAT HAVE ALLREADY BEEN MADE????

Now don't say: because our current technology is way better.

Fine by me if you wanna make a prequel of batman. How he got created and stuff like that... but honor the former movies a bit please. (besides batman and robin. That movie is thrashcan meat).

And he drives a lambourghini??? Wtf....???? What is subtile about a lambo tongue.

You have claimed all this time that you would die for me. Why then are you so surprised to hear your own eulogy?

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

they won't honor the former movies at all

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: 2008 Summer Movie Guide

yep, they are taking batman in a whole new direction. Both movies are way better than any other of the previous batman movies. They do that a lot though with movies. Its just a matter of time before they try superman once again.

lots of people kill, but all murderers arent crazy, are they? he kills because he hates society; and the people represent the society that he hates. its not crazy, its just evil. im not sure what you're refferancing when you say he blows stuff up just to blow them up.
