Topic: Trap Planets
MaceWindex had a pretty cool idea here.
[...] may I suggest a form of trap planet? a captured planet that's sole purpose is to explode and kill troops when attacked?
This idea has another endless supply of modifications. This could be used in conjunction with disbanding a planet, to show unexplored but still has traps.
This strikes me as a useful addition to our defensive toolbelt. Lasers are ok for awhile, but easily overcome once people can afford even a modest fleet of bombers. A sabotaged planet on the other hand could be a little harder to deal with.
Disbanding (abandoning) a planet is a second part to this, which I think has value for other reasons anyway, but also makes the trap idea more compelling.
