Hmm, odd. Define loads! I download heaps and heaps, never been capped.

in BT's case, its 40 GB in a month. WTF i do that in less than a week

The first month when i first rang them, they said 'You have downloaded...[pause]...200 GB this month. Why is this?'

I quickly answered back with 'im supposed to be on unlimited downloads so how come im capped'

first thing is go to www.speedtest.net  check ur speed.

you then want to go into ur modem settings & find out ur throughput- if u dont know how to do this- phone BT & ask them what ur throughput is.

throughput is your connection speed to your exchange- actually download speed is usually slower since u gotta go thru worldwide servers. if ur thru put is like 4Mb + but ur actual download speed is 1.5Mb then there's definitley something wrong. time of day does effect speed- if ur run ur tests at 1am ull notice an increase in speed.

been to speedtest & that came up with 1700kbs connection. the rate says ots over 6 which throws me even more

Ben, DSL. Using BT Home Hub connected throuhgh ethernet cable. all hardware is the same as before thats why i cant understand it. dont know if its my network card settings, ive changed the speed bit where it says stuff like 10 half / 100 half etc but all those make no difference.
