Topic: No more anonymous playing

Empires leader name = forum name and both are unchangeable.

This way ppl need to take responsibility of their actions in a long run.

Those who fear some unfair revenges for fair play, I can tell that I have used my name openly always and never hidden behind anonymity. I know there are others who are as open as I am. I have never heard about any unfair revenges.

Of course ppl have dished out some revenge to me once in a while, but both the instigating fight and the revenge fighting has been more fair than wars approximately are. Those are even more fun usually, because then ppl send greetings and messages whilst fighting.

Fair players have no need for hiding.

Re: No more anonymous playing

I play fair and hidden. If not, asshats like Sol hunt me down for lulz!

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

Re: No more anonymous playing

Yep, they tried it, I fought against it for similar reasons.

Re: No more anonymous playing

Moderators could have an player alias.

As for normal players...

If Player X would hunt me down every round, I possibly would try to be ready for it (he could not hide either) and would also inform the family about this upcoming situation. I bet X would be in the receiving end sometimes and if he would hunt down several other ppl too, he would soon be busy defending himself from several fronts.

Maybe the bad boys of IC would eventually learn that their actions have consequences. Yeah, a bit naive, but could happen if majority of IC players are pro fair play and dedicated enough to teach a few lessons to bullies now and then.

If Player X would be so superior that he could hunt down anyone, any round, and ppl could not harm or win him, then he really should be allowed to do that.

Re: No more anonymous playing

Interesting Zanharim, but not new.
The player name would be enforzed in the "ruler name" not in the empire name, bekause we want to keep family themes going.  And everyone would be responsible of his aktions.

Now, the villians (there must always be evil-sided here right?) would kreate new akkounts and turn multi-mode on, simple as that.

The only way to promote people playing by their own name and their former akkount is to reward good reputation within the offizial akkount.  I treated this theme in the past here in ideas forum, of kourse it is forgotten like everything I post, and dont you dare to bump or you'll be punished tongue

I's all about the role-playing aspekt of the game, in the way your kharakter has an evolution round after round. But look where the role-playing has been stuk lol the latest post in rpg forum is from our good ole krazy fella Zeno syndikate posted in Oktober 29 of 2013!! yikes

interezting ztuff there, take 5 minz to read it all

Re: No more anonymous playing

I don't really care about being anonymous. I do care about fully themed names. When you sent a massage it states [Ruler] of [Empire name]. I like to theme names that make use of the "of", i.e.: The Voice of Holland, Seven of Nine of The Borg, etc.

@Render:

Nice idea in honor forum. I would even give everyone ability to vote on honor, but that universal vote would just be advisory tool for the council and mods. With those votes general population could raise some concerns.

Council members would need to know who is who though, so they should need to know which empire represents which player account.

Also I see no point in keeping such "rep points" a hidden feature. That kills the whole point IMO.

Your idea is doable, but still quite heave qith bureaucracy.

My idea is a bit lighter, but relies on community and individual actions to get rid off dishonor. Hard and takes time, if even doable.

Also, your idea has the same small flaw than my idea. Those who get negative reputation, could still start multis or new clean account and keep on going.

In fact, I bet they would be more inclined to do so if reputation would have ingame negative bonus consequences. With my idea, they probably would be too vain to change acco just because they have a bad boy rep within the community.

Only in extreme cases some dirty player could need to change acco (when she/he would have too many bloodthirsty enemies). That player would know though that if he continues and revenges, the whole thing would just go on and eventually even the most stubborn player should change their way of playing, because fair players seem to have more fun. Of course using multis for revenge could be done, but hey, that´s not allowed and gets you blocked as well as constantly creating new accos.
