Topic: Member Spotlight: Zarf

Again, this thread is supposed to be an interview of one of our members, Zarf a.k.a. The Great Eye In The Sky, one of our forum moderators.

There is one question I am dying to ask:

Zarf, how did you get your tag points?

(BTW, it's not only me who needs to ask interview questions; we all can).

Re: Member Spotlight: Zarf

Zarfy! When are you going to get a job? smile

Maar doodslaan deed hij niet, want tussen droom en daad,
Staan wetten in de weg en praktische bezwaren,
En ook weemoedigheid, die niemand kan verklaren,
En die des avonds komt, wanneer men slapen gaat.

Hmm...  these sorts of questions don't sound like legitimate interview questions - not the sort of question a journalist would ask an interviewee.  You've got to ask them questions like they are superstars, so they will feel flattered that you're asking.  Then they might actually answer...

Ask something like this:

"the great eye, formerly known as Zarf, there's a lot of speculation being made on your motives for changing your nickname.  Does it indicate a new direction in life, a new spin on the way you look at things in the world?  Can you let your fans in on what are you trying to say to the IC community by changing your nickname?"

Re: Member Spotlight: Zarf

Or like this question:

To the great eye, formerly known as Zarf, it's been said that you're a bit of a foamer when it comes to trains.  What do you think about this clip:

Re: Member Spotlight: Zarf

Is it true you changed your handle, to more align yourself to the Big Brother government, and are truelly working for the NSA to spy on the Imperial Conflict community?

...it's a legitimate question asked by enquiring kittah like minds.

=^o.o^= When I'm cute I can be cute.  And when I'm mean, I can be very very mean.  I'm a cat.  Expect me to be fickle.

Re: Member Spotlight: Zarf

No, I am not working for the NSA.  Please ignore the fact that I actually did link the nick "NSA" to my IRC account before you asked that question.  big_smile

Okay, fine, I'll go through these.

Tag points: I have not the slightest idea where they came from.  Not that I don't have a general idea of the fact that I did have a decent amount of tag points... however, between the massive transfer of tag points to the new system, the conversion of negative tag points to that system, and some other irregularities, I have not the slightest idea, and could not hope to accurately figure it out since some of the people responsible are long gone.  hmm

Regarding the nick change: Although, unlike what xeno says, it's highly unlikely that "fans" are looking for the answer because... come on, it's Zarf we're talking about... sure.  It was actually more ironic than anything.  I figured it would be funny for the forum mod who is ridiculously inactive and lazy to be the one with the name implying an omnipotent authority.

Sorry, no long-winded hidden philosophical messages there for you, xeno!  I was almost tempted to make up some massive philosophy just to see how far I could take it, but changed my mind a couple pages in.  tongue

Make Eyes Great Again!

The Great Eye is watching you... when there's nothing good on TV...

Re: Member Spotlight: Zarf

I'm sure we'd all be intrigued by your philosophical insights, The Great Eye (or can I call you Zarf?).   I think you're just being modest about your forum mod skills.

Here's another question for you that I think the IC community would like to know.  What motivates all your hard work as an F-mod?  It's not as if you must be earning googleplex dollars dong so.  Can you take us through a typical day in the life as The Great Eye F-Mod and let us in on your thoughts or feelings about what keeps you motivated to do your F-Mod responsibilities so diligently day in and day out?
