Topic: Nw Change For Attacking

Here's my idea about fixing the limitations on attacking nw.

For instance
Player (A) has 2.1million Nw, he can actually attack a 840k Nw player (B)
- Both in terms of infra and fleet, 840k - 2.1million is a laaaaaarge gap in this game.

I noticed this first in Supernova, by no means will most players infra at 840k be able to keep up with 2.1million.

Is it a huge problem? Maybe I dunno. can it be redone? Absolutely. Maybe nw shouldn't be done by percentages, more as a table.

Say
3.1 mil + (normally after this you're at war or infrawhore)
3mil - 1.2mil
1.1mil - 901k
900k - 701k
700k - 501k
500k - 351k
350k - 100k

And of course, war time is a whole different factor.

Just a thought, those numbers are just something to look at from a different angle. The range doesn't have to be as tight as I put it, but in terms of overall gameplay, it's something that needs to be changed. A new player joining this game, playing the supernova galaxy sitting on say 800k nw, feeling good, actually feeling like he's doing something, then a dude with 2mil nw is capable of ruining his day. At that level, over double the nw is actually alot.

Food for thought, Id like to see some ideas tossed like a salad on this. Maybe with the new changes, it's something that could get redone.

Furthermore, it'd stop big fams from hitting little fams, it'd force big fam wars, then we could have an actual 6-10th place, if you look at recent history, 6-10 is nothing compared to top 5. Then of course, fams 6-10 get to become feeder fams because they didn't do as well.

I dunno, thoughts?

In a different game I've played, they had different ratios at different levels (only 2 or 3).

Eg:
Less than 500k nw, it's at 60%.  So gotta be pretty close
Less than 3m nw, it's at 40%.
More than 3m nw, everything is free game.

Just a thought that came to mind as a 800k nw person in supernova getting attacked by a 2mil person, I can't unfortunately contend tongue

im being hit by someone 4.4mill and im 2.7mill. i have no fleet left. this needs to be changed. and it has to be alot closer. like if u r 4mill u can only hit people that r within the 4mill range. so between 4-5mill. any greater of a difference and it would seem unfair for the smaller fam. this would make for more competition i think.

You close that gap and you might as well change the name to Imperial Savings and Loan.  Already too few people to attack as it is.

It's not based on that, as lord soccer says, he has no chance. Maybe if the people with the 4 mil nw would grow a pair and attack somebody fair there wouldn't be a point to complain at. It does need to be changed, you wont keep new people here with the big guys taking out people half their nw

i would be as big as him, but unlike him i attacked throughout the round instead of just infra whoring until i was so big i  decided i would start attacking smaller people. it currently already is imperial savings and loans.

There is very little to no chance to turtle as a smaller player. Combine that with top players napping half the galaxy to farm the other half after infrawhoring and you get the state of the game as it is right now. New players that end up at the bottom half probably won't come back for another round.

This has been an age old issue. I think the 40% NW rule could be raised to 60% and 30% in wartime. However, I also am not certain that doing so would have be a major factor in keeping new players coming back for more rounds.

ur going the wrong way. if someone is 4mill and u make it 60% that means he can hit someone 1.6mill.

it needs to be around 30% (4mill - 30% = 2.8mill - not too bad) , or maybe something like if you hit someone inbetween 30-40% smaller after taking so many planets like 10 there is a say 10 tick waiting period to give the smaller player time to recover before the bigger player can continue attacks again, unless retaliated upon which then would get rid of the 10 tick waiting period.

oh ok yah sorry. so even 60% means a 4mill person can hit someone 2.4mill. ur telling me people wont fight cause it might be too close? even 4mill compared to 2.4mill if a big difference.

well for one..here my opinion..
the NAP should be on Permanent Nap or 72 hours NAP only..remove the 24hours and 48 hours NAP as those are the one top fam player are abusing..signing a 24hour NAP so that he could enter some smaller player Systems to portal up in there and cancel at no notice at all to destroy the smaller family.
Permanent Nap should be sign and cannot be remove even with a MOD power to avoid abuse..
maybe giving a Big player an -ve% bonus when attacking smaller family member :-
40% NW = 6% insta dead
50% NW = 4%
60% NW = 2%

everything above than 60% will be no penalty at all.

than again..smaller player should learn to remove anyone not NAP with them regardless of enemy NW frm getting into their system 1st..the reason most are farm bcoz they allowed the bigger player to enter their system doing nothing.

IF NAP are not remove i suggest that a system agreement of unable to enter should be force upon (works like a core for the targeted NAP player) to avoid abuse and also a chance to reduce top fam NAP each other as more NAPs means reduced system for them to enter:-
24hours NAP = 15system deal
48hours NAP = 10system deal
72hours NAP = 5system deal
