guys im that much of an air head i only realised we were at war about 10 mins ago
im now getting the facts from both sides and taking a fair view on it.
heres the score.
it was discussed the 14 day cancellation but nothing was oficially signed.
its not a clear nap break but it is a bit shady which is where the problem lies
either way unfortunately there has been a lot of bad blood between the fams and were at the point now where theres no return i feel.
im sorry its worked out this way but 70/80 both have much more savings over my fam (84) and its not like you dont have savings. you have more savings than my fam
so dispite all the arguments the fams involved have equal savings so it will be a fair fight.
im not happy with how it came about however we are in a circumstance where we are going to war.

Meh I have been trying to have your back Lee... because I think Pie and others have been really harsh on you for paying for planets for the nap earlier ... but you are making it very difficult.
I imagine if I were in your fam or allies and see you posting in uni that the reason you are breaking a nap/word 10 days early because you personally were offended by a couple people trolling you.
Then you offer to re-nap with the original agreed date if those that trolled YOU come and personally apologize to YOU.
To me this sounds like someone with an awful ego problem... I know it is hard to look at yourself objectively but I hope you do see it too. We all have problems, yours just seems to be your ego... you are willing to drag the names of your fam members and allies through the mud for personal pride ... this is not right and not the quality of a leader in a game or in life.

Damn what a game. You can have months of hard work and preparation ruined by someone going back on an agreement and that person will have zero consequences, but if someone calls you a bad name (in a war game, on the internet) you can get forum banned. Awesome.

Lee I am sorry, none of my comments before this thread were meant to be taken seriously. I still think you had this planned and are just using that as an excuse, but if you're being serious know that I never meant to offend (before this thread, I meant to offend in this thread).

from what i have read, the nap has been made with exploitable loopholes. unfortunately people will exploit them, you got to make sure of a more water tight nap. that talk between WS and Lee doesn't look to be 'official'.
so its shameful on lee's part, but if he acts that way the only thing you can do is show everyone what he is like.
one thing im certain of, if we all spoke like proper human beings (when were being nice humans ofc) to each other more in IC (instead of trolling) then these problems would be sorted by talking it over, rather than 5 pages of crude slander. people dont realise how things are interpreted via text. the way you type it and put it down isn't the same as someone else may read it. (especially with different langauges etc involved).
i'd try to get the four leaders together to sort something out. maybe talking to lee like an adult will make him prefer to do this a better way.

Good post, you make solid points. Personally, having someone do this to me ingame after putting a month and a half of hard work into the round, is a much worse offense than any name calling or trolling. I could care less if someone rages at me on the internet, I am used to it. But having someone personally ruin your round by going back on what they agreed upon just makes me super upset =-\

Well, we won't close the thread but we'll deal with the offending posts. Regardless, you are correct. Everybody, stop with the personal attacks. All of you who are doing it. We can and will issue forum bans when necessary, and this may or may not include the ability to post in your family forums as well. So KNOCK IT OFF.

This is what I've been saying all along. Lee I apologize if this is offensive and I'm not trying to slander you for the sake of slander but I think you are a terrible leader. Pickle's post above is another example of what I mean about your ego. You say your family is worthless without you, you talk about what jokes your allies are, you say YOU are the ONLY reason your fam is #1, and when you can't be online for a war that means it can't happen as if you are the only important player in the alliance. 78/84 has become the Lee show, and it is unfortunate for anybody in those families.
We were pretty far behind for a while and our allies never gave up on us or belittled us (not that I know if anyways). We made a comeback and now we're having a decent round.
This is why good allies isn't the same as good ranking allies. I'll ally 7866 again over a fam lead by Lee any day.
The last thing I want to say is about responsibility. As much as I hate to say it, this isn't entirely on Lee. Was he sneaky? Absolutely. Is he untrustworthy? Indeed. However, he is also correct: if all the leaders involved didn't actually sign the terms in question then it is on those people for not following up to ensure the agreed upon terms.
That sucks, I know, and we're trying to fix the game so that these kinds of things are less possible. Until then, leaders really need to take responsibility for their own agreements. I think it is absolutely shitty what Lee is doing, and I think he is not to be trusted in the future as a result. The fact that he's essentially saying "lol got ya on a technicality 
" speaks to his character, but this could have been prevented if such terms were clearly documented in an official NAP agreement. If they weren't, then it's also the mistake of the leaders involved for putting trust on somebody who doesn't deserve such consideration.

That's your issue Lee - YOU took the trolling personally, while they were just having fun with you. Pie is completely right when he says this is an issue of ego - you see that you're #1 in the game but you're not being "respected", so you want to show everyone what true power is. The problem is that if you kicked our ass in 12 days, I would have been perfectly fine with it. This will be a hollow win, though, because you went about this the wrong way. You let the troll get into your head and it cost you a credible fam victory this round.

I never thought I'd say this.....but I agree with Lee.
The NAP msg is clear, there are no terms in it about a cancellation time.
If you add a gentlemens agreement too an existing nap, with the before mentioned shady person without resigning it in an official nap, the only one you can blame for the breaking of a gentlemen agreement is yourself.
If you have the time to make it on IRC, it takes 30 seconds too copy-paste/add it to the existing nap and msg it around the alliance and (re)sign it.
If you burn your bum, you gotta sit on the blisters. Now start planning how you can whoop his bum! =P
