Rushing forward but keeping to cover, Watson drew his trusty revolver while Sherlock drew a rather small derringer. The two came across a scene they had not expected. Sitting at a table was a inspector who looks to have been cleaning his own revolver, but had left a round in the chamber. Inspector EvilRunt, recently promoted from the lower ranks, sat in the chair with his head on the table, a single shot to his own chest having killed him.

Sherlock gingerly walked up, prodded the head up with his cane, confirming for sure no life remained... then reached in a few pockets before coming out with the precious diary page, which he inserted in his own pocket.

"Seems he was promoted either for his skill as a manager type, or..." went Doctor Watson

"Bad timing on the joke Watson, it does however seem this lead is a dead end after all."
