Bill bryson`s a short history of nearly everything covers all topics u requested and more lol. I gave up reading it about half way through cuz my mind burst lol

and as for discworld, the best ones are the ones that focus on the city watch (imo) So unless anyone would totally disagree with that, keep it in mind tongue

"Mort" was an awesome discworld novel
i especially liked that medieval arch wizard who was death's bootlicking handyman who got released back into the modern University
