Re: How to play SS

Just like to add that an active player is an active player. An active player with experience will invariably grow. An active SSer will be more effective than an inactive fam banker. But an active fam bank will mop the floor with an active SS team.

Worrrrrrrrrrrrrrd

Re: How to play SS

Taking all of that in consideration, let's all keep in mind playing SS is as much of a valid option as any other tongue don't judge!

Re: How to play SS

Timmyville would have pooed his pants had he played against Thakendar in his pomp.

Re: How to play SS

I'm sure he was wonderful. But he would have been even BETTER working in a good team. Just like all the rest of the "great SS players" who played 5-10 years ago, before the new team oriented rules were initiated.

And yes, it's a valid option. Just a selfish, inefficient, ineffective option.

Worrrrrrrrrrrrrrd

Re: How to play SS

best SS race now is wardancer

Re: How to play SS

Just want to say that this round, the fam I'm playing with is great.  They don't expect anything from me and when they do get something they're grateful.  They seem to understand that because I take care of myself, any support I do provide is a net gain to them.

This is a great attitude for a fam to have towards an SS player.

Re: How to play SS

Really sick of this interdependency paradigm that most players have.

I would rather play whereby everyone understands that they are supposed to be independent, and that if they want to go pure banker they should expect to get their res from the market or get aided if prices are too high for them.  Same with resourcers - their peacetime upkeep can easily be had by a little trading.

It's only when people fall on hard times or during war that it is necessary to have a fam bank.

And it should be a short-term measure aimed to help players get back on track towards being self-sufficient or accomplish war objectives.
