Long gone are the days we need to micromanage 10k gc and stuff and every 1 building mattered, and every 15 gc saved due to upkeep.

(I miss those days though).

Now people just want accelerated growth and to move on into the round.  So question ....is there a particular reason why end is such a scarce resource?  Or is it one of those things that was done 12 years ago....and has just never changed.

Also mixes up the dynamics a bit, allowing strategizers to start thinking about some new ways to start off the round.

This is a very interesting question.  It makes me wonder what dictates the availability behind any resource.  As far as I know it's fairly arbitrary, but I wonder what would happen if we randomly weighted the starting resource distribution.

I think it would be awesome to have different starting recourses and cash every round. Not necessarily the 1x-10x amount but a real mix. This would make the start less predictable and would require new thoughts about the start every round...

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

What about changing starting resources based on race?  Not sure how easy that would be to do but would place another interesting dynamic on race selection

Giving more initial endu would kill any BOR strat, because everybody can FB and then infra jump in tic 5 on new planets.

Now giving more initial ressies (in general) would be great, because it accelerates the game in a few days. The current BOR is too lame, the way you can only start sriously playing on day 3 of the round, after the bor strat.

The only fail I see here is that, adding more initial ressies will create a bigger difference between active and inactive fams in the first days, with no chance for the small fams to catch up. So this would end in a lost of interest in the game, thus farming earlier, thus less competition.

I like the idea.  It also avoids some of the advantage that some fams get if they manage to place the first market bid, given that the 10 fams that were a second or two late, will not have that advantage.
